Anxi: A Game About Anxiety by megang (itch.io)

Hello!

Anxi: A Game About Anxiety is a short 2D platformer game (still a prototype) I made in Unreal meant to teach players about various extreme "anxiety thoughts" I personally learned about from attending Anxiety Toolbox workshops at the Student Health Center at my school. The player plays as the character Anxi who must jump around platforms and face their fears that look like them by blasting them with a beam that will turn them friendly. There are four levels with unique platform challenges and easy story levels in between. You are guided through the story by Anxi’s friend Medi who helps them reframe their anxiety thoughts. Warning: platforming gameplay can be anxiety provoking, but it will be okay!

Any critical feedback welcome! Thank you so much!

Maybe if i see anyone else looking for group i’ll message you or if anyone see this and looking for someone to add can message me.  Best way to contact for this would be on discord, my user name is megang. Looking forward :)

Very nice! Cute characters, interesting story and writing. Art work is beautiful and the music is great. Also cool that you implemented choices.

Rough concept I made. No where near done but shows the assets we are using so far we got free from unity assets store. Plan to make our own as needed.

Hi everyone :D Our team is made up of ZDelta47 (code), lemonlemon (design), Rneuma (sound), ZiCKeZaCKe (code) and myself megang (art).

We are making a first person 3D puzzle game in Unity with a kind of Journey to the Center of the Earth (jungle/underground/ruins) theme and aesthetic. We're going to have a low-poly look. It is currently called 'Escape!' though could change as we get further along in the development process. We are incorporating the theme of water into our puzzles by having some type of raising water levels that adds tension for the player to complete the puzzle before they are consumed by the water and have to restart the puzzle. We came up with various puzzle ideas and are working on figuring out a story and path for our game to take. The puzzles we are making are unique and non-intuitive. We took inspiration from games like Anti-Chamber.

Some pictures of work we've done so far and will have more to add later:

Let us know what you think! Excited to see what cool stuff everyone else is making.
