aw thanks!! I appreciate you checking this one out! Lmk if you need hints anywhere lol, this one is pretty vague. The tile readability is definitely an issue in this one too, yeah. If you liked the movie, I'd highly recommend the manga that it's based on! It's one of Miyazaki's lesser known projects I think, but I'd say the story's themes are a bit different

Yay yay I finally got around to playing this again and I got both endings! The narrative was really unique imo, I could tell you put a lot into it :)
Great work! Again, I dont wanna spoil the game here in the comments so I'm not gonna say much about the content of the game, but again it's so unique. I liked the nature of the two endings, to put it vaguely. And the music!! Loved it.
I'm excited to see whatever else you make in the future :D
(I liked the secret text where it says "Oh???? Choose something else :)" That was a cool detail and it was fun to accidentally discover lol)
I love it so far! The music is very relaxing, and reminds me a bit of yume nikki ^^
It did crash for me (was messing around with torches even though coal didn't have an icon and so I'm guessing they probably weren't fully implemented) so I'll send over some screenshots I took of the crash later, but sadly i gotta get back to some studying right now >3<
Wow, thank you for all the feedback!!! Sorry you had trouble with the save data, I wonder what happened...? Were you playing the browser version? I don't think I've had a problem with that before. I'll look into it a bit though
I honestly wasn't going for metroidvania, but I'm glad it kinda felt like one! I enjoy the genre quite a bit
That's a good idea with the first boss, it is a little annoying to wait so long for the right attack in order to damage him
I'm glad you liked the rest of the bosses! I had fun making them!
Thanks for reporting that bug! I'll fix it right away. I know what's causing it, I just forgot to account for the case when the player is returning from the boss battle.
And I knew about the bug with the station, I just forgot to fix it! Thanks for reminding me lol.
Yeah, I wanted to make the airship level easier to traverse on the way back. And I feel like it would make some later-game platforming a little difficult if the player always had the tetsip-style rocket. That was my reasoning anyway
Thanks for the tip on the free the spirits part! I realize it's hard to avoid getting hit sometimes, so I agree that it would be appropriate to have way more onigiri pickups there. (Not sure what I was thinking, to make them so infrequent)
Thanks so much for playing! I'm really glad you liked it! And all feedback is appreciated, no worries that it was long! (And if you have anything else, feel free to mention it)
:)
I thought I'd post something here about the voice over in the intro of the game. I could only make out the bit at the end and I think it says:
"No-one can understand it, and it is the nature of its/this system"
Maybe the intro isn't particularly important to the game and isn't intended to be understood, but I think it's real neat and I'm curious about what it says. If anyone else made out a different bit, please do reply with what you came up with!
Edit: The end bit might say "the nature of existence" rather than "its/this system" and also I think the beginning might say "There are times in this world when..."
Hiya! I love the demo, you really nailed the atmosphere and flow and I'm looking forward to the full game!
So I was wondering what you made this with, as I've been getting into game making recently and don't have much of an engine or anything to use (except PICO-8 but that's intentionally very limited in what you can do).
