Oh man. A brilliant idea flawlessly executed. Those wheelchair ladies are not messing around.

Hmm, I think you have a really great idea here, actually, like it gets pretty fun a little while in. I think it mostly needs to be sped up, Or started with many plants already grown. But the changing map thing felt really good. The music was a great choice, that made it still work with the slower pace.
Thank you! Oh man, I really want to finish it, which has never happened with a game jam before. The animations were so fun to do, and there are more that didn't get in. Two of us were art side and our poor programmer was just trying to get all these ideas we had in. We just barely had a working game by the end lol. It definitely needs more variety and balance.
Thank you! Yes, I really want to finish this now, just gotta bug the team into it. We have almost everything, just need more complicated drinks/ingredients, some upgrades, and we were considering some cute dumb jumbly skeletons to run the machines, as you advance and get more drinks. You're right about recipe page, that was probably easier than what we did, too lol
Love the style, and the minigames. Very punishing at first but super fun once you get into the groove. I do feel frustrated that I can't get to every customer though, even with practice. I'm not sure it takes too much away, it gives a very good feeling of tension. It makes me nostalgic for dos games like Alley Cat.
Wait hold on, you can win? I thought spooky guy always comes to visit. I thought I was doing well lol, but maybe i got a little ambitious, I was catching cups in air, I was stacking cups and preflavoring them and then making them all go flying when I went to give it to the guy. Them being able to knock into each other was a fun part of it, as well as the initial OH GOD of them going upside down. I laughed a lot while playing, fun experience for sure
Yes, we ran into that problem with a friend of ours who tested, he did not know baseball. In fact, our programmer didn't know baseball which is even funnier. We got him a diagram to explain it :3 Ideally I think we would do a short tutorial phase before you start play for real.
If you're interested, the way it's supposed to work is you have to bring the right color ball to the right color batter before he reaches one of those four little white plates he is rounding. You can miss him, so you have to go to a plate in front of him- thats when he will get outed and disappear (which is a little anticlimactic). He needs a little sad animation for when he loses, I think :)
yeah we didn't really get to the part where there is an ending to the game it just kinda... stops spawning. the size thing is very true- I made the joke that it is like you are a lone adult playing against an entire team of toddlers, so it feels a little mean lol. Great feedback ty! Oh and the rounding is sort of intentional- it happened when we turned up their speed and we kinda liked it.
I think the controls might need to be a little more explicit. I'm still not entirely clear on what the best strategy is for throwing but what I ended up doing was spinning the mouse in a circle to "charge up". That made it feel best, but I'm not sure its the best for accuracy. Was verr fun once I figured it out, but I left a pretty big knife graveyard the first time lol. I, for a moment, thought it was unplayable, but then read the comments, so I knew there was something I was doing wrong. Nice game though, cool idea.
So I absolutely love this concept and kept trying to play it, even though it bugged out on me a few times. At the start, ball would not go at all, but maybe I was doing something odd with the controls. I refreshed and it worked fine doing what I thought was the same thing. Full screen definitely resolved all the trouble I was having with shooting, plus you get to see lil happy face on the ball change. I got pretty far, to right here, and the ball never stopped rolling when I somehow got it in this spot. Definitely a good game, just needs a few little tweaks! It was difficult but really satisfying to get it through some of these real tough levels.
