We've definitely considered adding pickups as a way to force the player to choose between going straight for the exit or trying to get some kind of bonus for taking a detour, but utlimately we decided to keep the scope of the game to a minimum so we could finish within the timeframe we gave ourselves.
We'll very likely be revisiting the core gameplay and especially the character controller based on the problems you described. N+ was certainly a game we had in mind when making this one.
Thank you very much for the detailed feedback, and good luck to you too!
Alrighty, sorry you're having technical difficulties with the game. We looked into it and the game does take a few (10-15) seconds to load before the unity logo appears and the game is ready to play. Not sure if that might help. We've also uploaded it to newgrounds. Maybe you can try your luck there?
Howdy, thank you for these fonts, we used a couple of them in our game Multiverse Marathon!
Hi, we used a couple of your tracks in our game, Multiverse Marathon! Hope we did them justice!
The game should save your progress automatically, but it's possible to reset your progress from the Options Menu.
As for the deadline, we're experimenting with a development system that forces us to finish games quickly. Once we've applied it for a while we'll do a devlog/blog post about the specifics and how it went.
Done!
And yeah, it's not exactly a bug, more a side effect of how the Enchanted Garden Plots work. It's possible to take advantage of this to earn lots of mana pretty fast, but it requires paying attention and having a deep understanding of how the game works, so we left it as is as a reward for players who work on figuring out how the game works. :)
Yeah, this is the first incremental game we've made, and we only gave ourselves a week to do so, so we didn't have enough time to implement prestige or any number of other features that are standard in an incremental game. We do have plans to revisit incremental games in the future, using everything we've learned from this game and giving ourselves a little more time to make a more feature-complete and interesting game in the genre.
Thank you very much for trying out our game and for leaving us a comment!
