just replenished!

I totally get it! I hope you do get a chance to reconnect (whether through the game or not)

Should be some available now!

Thank you so much Seamus!

That's all part of the "fun"!

I’m so happy you found it! Would love to hear what you think when you get a chance to play. I do sell discounted copies on my website that have slight bends/misprints which might ease the international shipping costs

I'm so glad you like it!

Mark my words, this will be regarded as THE tarot-powered TTRPG once it is out. Elegant fun mechanics and a world that begs you to explore. I can't recommend it enough!

Thanks for this review! Love the 80s movie comparison, that’s a new one for me.

I’ll note that you can’t lose your character on the first roll. You will become too delicious if you have zero Eldritch traits and then roll another Chicken failure. So you would need to roll two Chicken Failures in a row from jump to immediately lose your character.

thank you so much! The planner bundle is probably my favorite thing I’ve made

Love to hear about your group's playthrough! Definitely can be easy to get carried away with the body horror at times haha.

Thank you for flagging some of these rules clarifications! This game is a few years old so there are definitely things I would like to update at some point when I have the time. These sorts of questions/flags are super helpful for that.

In terms of order of ability, all genes will be used in the Resolve phase unless otherwise noted.

For R - I think your interpretation was dead on! Love that it knocked out the player with 2 hp

For Z - correct! This would not be permanent. Essentially whichever of the split abominations is more "healthy" becomes your main one after this turn.

Thanks again! So glad your group had fun playing :)

Love this! Thanks for playing!

Love when a plan comes together!

Would love to hear what you think if you do!

I'm so glad you're enjoying it! Love the shape your story is taking

Thank you so much! Huge fan of both of those games so that is truly an honor

Oh loooove that one! This was actually an idea from BE/HOLD (who wrote the soundtrack) early in the game's development. Had to include it!

I'm so glad you had fun with it! What was a favorite surprise from playing?

So glad to hear it! Would love to hear how your playthrough goes!

Ooh I would love to see the review if you don't mind linking it!

Thanks so much! Can't wait to hear what you think of it. There are actually rules in the game for variations on replaying in the same planner. If you want to chat with other folks who have played, there are a handful in the Many Sided Media Discord!

Oh I LOVE this interpretation of the Entity as entities. So good! Thank you for playing!

Wow this sounds like an incredible playthrough! Also really made my day with all of your kind words about the game. Thank you so much for sharing!

An incredible follow up to the base game that celebrates and dramatically expands on everything I love about the world of Project ECCO. The Broken Watch will bring a new depth beyond what is possible in the base game. The layout and art is striking and I would love to see this in print. Mariko has created something special here.

I don't have any empirical evidence of this but my thought would be that including more special events, namely Entity Encounters and Agency Headquarters, would push the story forward quicker. On the other hand, if you write a device without either of those special events, it becomes something a player could spend more time with without strictly "advancing" the story, almost like a side quest.

Here is a resource for if you are working on a supplemental device!

Device Writing Guide

I say this within but it bears repeating:

This guide has information for how I wrote devices in the writing of Project ECCO. This is not the "right" way by any means. It is meant only to be as prescriptive as is helpful for your project.

Happy designing!

-Elliot

Love this! Memory is definitely an interesting thing to play with when it comes to time travel

Mariko!! This is so so cool and inspired. I can't wait to see it come together.

(1 edit)

Throw out rough ideas and help each other work them out :)

Hello! You can grab just the planner from my site: https://moreblueberries.shop/products/ecco

Amazing! First time I've heard of someone getting to that ending! So so glad you enjoyed it

I’m so glad to hear! Would love to hear about the story when you finish if you feel like sharing :)

that is so kind of you to say! I’m glad to hear it. Immersion was a big part of my goals for this game with trying to have certain mechanics  and real world objects tied to in fiction objects.

Thank you so much for saying so! I hope this opens up a world of solo gaming for you.

Hey there! So with the Watch (and most other devices), if you encounter the same prompt, you are welcome and encouraged to re-roll for a new one. You may be traveling with just the watch for your first 5 or 6 prompts but, after a certain point, device discovery would be the only prompt you hadn't yet encountered. That being said, you could complete your whole journey with just the watch but it would be a bit less interesting. I hope that helps and thank you for checking out the game!

Yes! Apologies, I've been a bit behind on the replenishing.

Thank you so much for the kind words! I would love to hear about the story you've explored once you've finished.

Absolutely! Could you shoot me an email with your info? elliotsdavis@gmail.com

Thank you so much for the kind words and for sharing your experience playing! I'm so happy you enjoyed it. If you do end up making a video of your playthrough, I'd love to share it here for other folks to check out.

An example of play is a great idea and something I'd love to put together soon.

Thanks also for sharing your stats! I can imagine so many fun aspects of your journey based on these.

I totally understand. I don't think it will change too much for you! Here's a few options I'm thinking might work:

  • You could use a calendar (digital or physical) to track where you are in the year and then label your writings in the google doc by date in a sort of diary style. (One of my early playtesters told me they wanted to try playing completely in google calendar, which I'd love to see.)
  • If you do want the physical experience, you could maybe track down a day planner for maximum space.
  • I also know that there are some Etsy sellers who make digital planners that are highly customizable, maybe in terms of space as well.

I hope one of these options works for you and that you enjoy your time with the game!
