I agree 100%. I created a similar game a year or two ago and had the same issue. I speed the game up quite a bit and the fun increased right away!

From the games of this jam, this is one of my favorites so far. You did a great job, especially the levels are really well done! Animations are cool, the menu is also looking fine.

There are only two things you need to improve in my opinion: First, add a few environmental details to the levels so that the player has some help for orientation when trying to memorize where the spikes are. It does not have to be much! And second, change the color of the movable objects so the player knows right away that it can be interacted with. Apart from that ... keep going, you did well!

Thanks for the elaborate feedback and also that you appreciate the (art)woork :)
The gameplay becoming dull after a short period of playtime is definitely a valid point. What I would have liked to implement is some kind of challenge to catch him within a certain time or with a limitted number of investigating hideouts. Also the idea of having decaying footprints to follow seemed cool in my head, but I managed only to realize a trimmed version of that. For the above issues as well as the idea of having another level I just could not manage to do more in that time.
As for the animations. That's actually interesting, because I made them way more apparent at first! But I decided it would make it too easy and thus changed the hints to be as subtle as they are now. Probably it was just my point of view and the fact that I knew what to look for.

True, felt that the difficulty drops, although one expects it to increase. Not bad though. Stickman animation is fine too ^^

Thanks :) I am not creating images in such a style (or any such images at all) often ... was happy how it turned out.

There are actually hints! Admittedly you have to look closely. "Winter" can only hide in some of the places (e.g. not behind a wooden log or a dead tree). If you are standing next to a potential hideout, you can in fact see a slightly different image (of the tree or stone ...) if he is hiding in there!

Thanks for the kind words :)
Glad you managed to get it running. Maybe you used an older system on your first try? I remember that I could not run my LÖVE created games on a Windows XP machine.

I take it no one else has issues with that?
Did you leave all the files in one folder? The .dlls  must be in the same place where the .exe is located. Any error messages?

Like the idea, also well implemented. Nice sound, too. Nice work.
