This is nice!

(1 edit)

Edit: Not sure what happened, but now I'm able to play other level. Huh

Edit to the edit: I think I was just not completing level 4 fast enough, so that's why it was restarting

Hey! This game is great! Love the retro feel to it. Would like to see more levels, as it keeps replaying level 4. Keep up the awesome work!

so you use a combination of Godot's camera limits? I usually code the camera movement from scratch. Does the Canera2D node have smooth movement?

I was going more for the idea that, whether they had a good reason to rebel or not, in the end it couldn't change their fate due to God's power being absolute and so God wouldn't spare them.

I was thinking of adding a different ending where you work against God with the rebels but I didn't have enough time to delve into that. Thanks for playing my game! Appreciate it

Nice game! Really enjoyed the cute mushroom. I like the boost move with a screen shake. I was wondering how to got your camera movement set up?

It was a little too drawn out for me, but once I got the hang of it I learned to work more efficiently which made it exciting

Hey thanks a lot for the helpful feedback and encouraging comments! This is my first game jam, so I will have much to learn for game development in general but also this form of game development. I will keep that advice with me! 😀 for now I'll update the description with the controls

Thanks cryy22, I really appreciate you playing my game! I'm glad you enjoyed the movement! Sorry for not making it clear on how to capture the angels 😅. You gotta shoot them until they are weakened then press f when you have a rope. After that you gotta press f on it once you get a capture pod.

Ah nice! Yeah I was wondering because most of them it was possible to hit them because I could jump down to a lower level and jump to shoot it.

I know right 😆 I saw your game and had to try it! 1 word difference

Nice looking game! I had trouble hitting the pieces on the ground but I wasn't sure if that was intentional though. Good stuff!

Not sure how to shoot the bits on the ground. Neat looking game though!

This is a great game! Love the concept. It's excitingly tricky to keep yourself alive while trying to eliminate the enemy's attack power, while also not killing it!

Awesome game!

Nice art! Seems the health bar was a bit broken though, since it took me about 8 or 10 hits before I actually died. But maybe there was a health pickup I was unaware of. Nice game!

Everyone in case you haven't already, click the link that the host sends you so you can submit it to the jam!

Nice! Super calm I found myself becoming way too immersed tbh XD. The visuals are awesome! Love the cloudy environment!

Thanks for this! I was sweating bullets when I realized I was just out of time. Here is my link:

As they mention in the overview for this game jam, each person will have their own interpretation of the theme and the limitation. For example, I'm going for the form of heaven where only angelic creatures exist that originally were created to live in heaven, totally separate from people who have died and gone to heaven as angels. Someone else was talking about using the mythological form of heaven, also significantly different from the form you are referring to. Up to you to change things around to create a new idea of death in heaven or do something similar to what I'm doing, which is having the rebellious angels cast to the abyss, where they will be exterminated.

True! Heaven is used widely as a figure of speech. Like, "Oh I'm in heaven will all this good food!"

Interesting. Will be neat to see other interpretations in the games

Oh! Good to know! Thanks.

I was wondering if anyone else had any ideas on how this jam's theme could be interpreted? It's not just heaven, but heaven². Heaven squared. What could this mean? I am interested to know your thoughts on this.

I believe the use of assets from another game you made or assets made prior to this game jam is allowed. It's stated here in the FAQ in the Overview tab that, "I have code and assets from other Jams I wish to use, are these allowed? Yes! If you have the rights to use it, anything that wasn't made specifically for this particular jam is allowed. Mini Jam isn't strict on the "build it from scratch" ruling, but it is encouraged.", leading me to believe you can create the assets ahead of time.

Better late than never agagagagaga

Yes! I finally beat it! Ahahahahaha!!! Spent 40 mins on this game

I wanna say "this game sucks" just because I'm salty I couldn't get to the end. But it is a nice game. I like the feel of it. Nice animations for the character and clean visuals. I enjoy the mechanics of dashing and wall jumping, that sort of thing was fun and I could fly through the levels with enough practice so it felt good zipping through the air.

Really nice!

I like the whole idea of going through a dream and the alarm keeps interrupting you.

Yes, an in-game button will be considered a digital input, I believe.

Nevermind. I didn't realize there were separate places for the other Mini Jams. I have missed a few since then. Thanks for the understanding.

I read that it says this Mini Jam lasts for 72 hours and occurs every two weeks. Am I doing something wrong, or has the next jam just not started yet?

I like this! Gotta have some strategy.

Super enjoyable. Smart and tricky puzzles that go perfect to the game jam's limitation.

Nice game! I like the duck! Good puzzle. It's forcing me to rethink my path each time I try. Good job!

Pressing r works for restarting :)

Very nice! Cheery music and creative way of changing the environment.

Nice little game. Tried lining up 20 of the shooters in one row. Did great damage. But there was an issue with the bots getting stuck at the spawn. But I player for 5 mins+
