I used this as the base to make a session for my players and it was super fun! Thank you for sharing it!

I found this game from the TTRPG Talk Short comparing it to The Hands of the Emperor by Victoria Goddard, and played it with some other fans! We had a great time and found the website it's hosted on very useful, though a notes section would've been very helpful.

While we enjoyed playing a more collaborative game than Quiet Year, it added to the time quite a lot, and we played it over 3 different sessions (approx. 7 hours total), which was a lot longer than the time listed.

Some of the prompts were better than others, with some feeling very small scale for a supposed empire, which could be a bit awkward given the premise we'd already built up. If I was playing it again, I'd probably print the prompts I liked the most and play with 20 or so of them, rather than a full deck.

The ending mechanic of stress was interesting, but we were a pretty happy collective, so we ended up tweaking the rule.  We played so stress was acquired when the characters were stressed, so we were under a bit more pressure and only adding collaboration when our players collaborated to solve a prompt.

I played this game with two friends, and had a good time!

The linked words at the core of the game is a ton of fun, and allows for a no-prep game that moves some of the work of deciding how the world and secrets line up from the GM to players. The Dirk Gently inspiration came through impressively clearly, to my limited knowledge of the series.

That said, the rules and gameplay were both a bit rough, giving the feeling of a game jam game that could've used some more playtesting. For example, there is no assistance/help mechanic, even though it's a multiplayer game. There's also no healing mechanic, so our GM/client designed one on the fly.

I did enjoy the game, but I would only recommend it to someone comfortable with indie TTRPGs and a lot of improv.

I've run and played a couple of sessions of this game and had a good time on both ends. It requires a bit of practice to run smoothly, so maybe a session zero / practice session would help if you have inexperienced players. The setting is a delight, and the use of clocks and teamwork means things can get tense but never feel beyond hope.

I found the playbook a little overwhelming in PDF form, so physical notes or liberal use of the highlight and comment features could help. This was because there was so much there, not because of any flaw in the design, though a table of contents at the start or index at the end could help.

The game is still regularly updated and has a discord for support if needed. I would recommend this game to a friend, and expect to continue playing it personally into the future!

A friend and I played this as a DM-less game over a couple of hours, and it was a blast.

I do think it's probably better with some advanced planning, as the wacky premise made collaborative story telling a little harder than other games I've done. The art is great, the non-wizard options are hilarious (we were each different familiars in trench coats who didn't know the other wasn't a wizard), and the magic options allow for creativity while guiding players.

Would recommend!

I ran this as a one-on-one game for a friend and it was such a delight! The premise is simple with plenty of room to tweak for personal preference, but with enough structure that I did zero advanced planning and had a great time. We ended up doing a single story over 3 sessions of about 3 hours each, but you could easily do shorter or longer.

Not the downloaded page, this page, I can't read the description with the blue background with red text

I'm very curious about this game, but I literally cannot read the page for it - the text/background combo is unreadable to me.

Haha I got this as part of the TTRPGs for Trans Rights in Florida bundle and thought I was missing something in the description, but no, this is exactly what it says on the tin. lol, I love it. Is it a game? eh maybe not. Is it a funny art piece on the nature of addiction and coffee? Maybe not intentionally.

Either way, it gave me a laugh. Thank you Beth and Angel!

More of an art piece than a ttrpg, but I can definitely see how it fits the Trans Fucking Rage Jam. As an art piece, heartbreaking.

This game is currently part of a large bundle for the same price, if that's of interest
