Yes!! I've been wanting to play your Crisp games on the Playdate for a long time. Thank you very much!!!

This looks like everything I ever wanted!!

Was this by chance inspired by the 1992 DOS game Night Raid? ^_^

Really cool and unique game! I love the concept of the dialogue options changing not only future events but the context leading up to that point as well.

I love this idea! I wanted a Playdate audio game, but I'm even more impressed it's designed to be played in the dark. As someone with insomnia, thank you!

Please remove the Playdate tag from this game.

This game looks great! Do you think it might get a Catalog release as well?

This is honestly, the perfect playdate game, 10/10.

Amazing balance of humor, catchiness, production values, fun but simple gameplay, perfect to play on train rides for 20 minutes at a time but with an addicting gameplay loop so you always wanna keep coming back, upgrades that are so interesting you want ALL of them instead of 'just but the best thing.'

I also love the approach to the atmosphere of the game; The concept and items and characters are absurd, but it never goes 'haha look how silly this is' and instead goes for a moody atmosphere with chill and tense music.

I admit I was expecting the game to be a joke from the concept, but I was not expecting it to  be this chill and relaxing. Highly recommended.

I was originally thinking $10, but after considering its beta status (0.21) and the fact that it's not an original application, I think $5 makes way more sense. Maybe if it were $10 from the beginning, but the current price really hurt my interest for this one.

I love paint apps, and in particular use the hell out of MSPaint (I realize this is based on MacPaint), so I was really excited for this. I think it's fair to say I'm specifically the target audience!
....But I agree that the $20 pricetag is insulting. Especially considering that this is a version 0.2 early release that even declares it makes no guarantees to finish/implement missing features.

I think a substantially higher number of people would be willing to purchase this at a more reasonable $5.

CUTE

I enjoyed trying to figure out this game, simple but fun! I'll be keeping this one on my playdate.

I really like the concept of this game! I actually played it a good bit more than some of the other jam games hoping that my seed collection would eventually sprout into flowers ^^;

Would be curious to see a more completed version!

Great game! I wasn't expecting nearly this level of detail. Very charming and creative, reminds me of playing early 2000s RPGMaker adventure games in the best way.

I absolutely love this game!
If I could have one request, I would love to be able to choose the direction the crank turns in the preferences.

Thanks for the reply!

Yeah, I've also found that a lot of playdate optimization is simply not using any of the provided functions in the C library...  ^^;

Really excited to see what you come up with next. And thank you for the updated build! This game definitely needs some more promotion.

This game is great! Definitely the best shmup on Playdate so far, and certainly the most complete. The graphics are top-notch. I would totally pay for a sequel/longer version with more stages and lives/checkpoints/powerups. (Like, $9.99 for a version with 5 levels or so)

I personally think the enemies have too much health -- I think with more enemies with less health each (and more firepower for the player) you could get some REALLY exciting action going on. Also, if you die during the boss, the boss music continues playing when you restart the game and the playdate crashes.

As it is it works great as a memorizer/puzzle kind of shooter, but I think you've got the framework for something amazing here.
