This is really technically impressive. Even for four people, to do this in a month is a lot :). And the graphics are really impressive too, I was surprised when I realized I could pan the camera around.

I haven't played a text adventure in so long, this was neat :)

I was able to get some interesting dialogue from the princesses but I admit I couldn't find a way to win.

What a cliffhanger :)

The dialogue was really charming and I love the graphics style too.

I really love the art style for this game. For some reason I heard no audio on desktop (but I am sure that's just me). The audio played fine on L5 and I really dig the music.

I did the math and saw how on your resolution, the tops of the balls were starting above the top of the screen. I tried the same again for 4096×2160 (4K) and 30px isn't enough for that.

So, I've updated it instead to use midtop (https://gitlab.com/neilsimp1/double-down/-/commit/62c81010a66c52e100adcc23b1c4e7...). I believe this should work for any screen size now.

I've updated to a 1.0.1 release here, https://gitlab.com/neilsimp1/double-down/-/tags/1.0.1 but I am not sure if it's ok to update what I have submitted to the game jam or not, so I guess I will leave that be for now?

Hmm weird. I didn't have that problem on desktop (1920x1080) or on my L5.
Did you experience this on an L5? Any screen scaling?

Thank you for the patch :) :)

Hello,

I am ready with a game, but am curious what format(s) are acceptable for a submission?

- Tarball of the source code? Steps to `make` and `sudo make install` are included.

- Compiled binary? Mine should work on x86 and aarch64, but needs to be compiled separately.

- Flatpak?

- Other?

I am excited to see it!
I too plan on targeting the L5, but I have ZERO game dev experience and am going the easy route with PyGame, I think.

If the worst thing that comes out of this game jam is a few silly games to try on my phone, I would consider it a success :).
