Cool game. I really like how unique the use of the dice is in this one. I certainly can't say I've ever seen a falling block game like it.

Yo, that's so cool, I love it!

My latest game, and my first game ever released for money - Snack Scoffer - is now available to play and to purchase!

You can play the game in your browser, or purchase the game as an executable that runs on Windows, Mac, Linux and even Raspberry Pi!

Here is a link to the game's page: https://niall-chandler-games.itch.io/snack-scoffer

How to Play

You, Aspen, must run around dodging the falling spike balls and scoffing the delectable foodstuffs.

- Eat 5 snacks to clear a round. Try to grab 5 of the same grub in a row for a perfect bonus!

- Keep an eye out for the rare heart and star power-ups. Snag a star to gain temporary invincibility for the round or capture a heart for an extra life!

- Get hurt by the spike balls and you lose a life. Get hit enough times though, and your game is over!

Snack Scoffer was created solely by me - Niall Chandler -  in the Pico-8 game engine. I had a lot of fun making the game, learning many things about game development and programming in the process.

If you have any feedback about the game, then by all means give it. I'd love to hear it, and I'd love to thank you so much for playing my game.

You can play the game here in your browser and, if you like it, buy a standalone executable so you can play the game whenever you want.

Just so you know, I found a bug.

Fantastic tool! Got my game from 80% to 56%. Genuinely incredible stuff.

Absolutely fantastic game! The artwork for the character portraits was especially standout!

Great game! It's very fun and the drill mechanic makes for a unique control scheme that's enjoyable to learn and get good with.

Excellent! I've played through it again, and it's a lot of fun. Haven't yet got all the penguins in under 10 deaths yet, but I'll get there eventually. This is my best attempt so far...

Thank you so much for playing my game! I'm glad you like it.

Awesome! I'll be sure to check out the post-jam version whenever it releases.

Good, but glitchy. The web version doesn't seem to work for me, and the exe file crashed when I rode the big block into the sky and the screen faded to white. Nevertheless, the game is quite fun. I like it.

First try! This was a surprisingly addicting game. The mechanics and overall stress of managing to keep the sub alive while trying to click the fish was a lot of fun.

Excellent ld48 game. I love the dynamic music with getting in and out of fights, and the use of post processing effects like bloom etc really makes the game look superb!

There is actually a timer if you turn the HUD on in the pause menu.

Thank you.

Wander the Cosmos is a space exploration game about journeying the universe in search of celestial objects to observe to scan.

This looks quite good.  While it is clearly a work in progress, I can definitely see this becoming something pretty special.

A couple things work noting are that for the background, I'd recommend making it a sort of jungle setting, as that would explain all the bamboo (well, that and the Nerdy Teachers YouTube tutorials), and you could contextualize the sand on the ground as stinky honey, which would explain why it slows you down and makes you jump lower.

Additionally for music, I'd recommend looking at Pico-8 Tunes Vol. 1 & 2 by Gruber. The songs are free to use and quite easy to import into your game.

Overall though, a great showing so far, and I'm eager to see what the game comes to be in the future.

Excellent! Glad I could help with the bug.

Awesome game! Really well put together. Although I have a question.

I've just beaten the dragon boss, but the way forward isn't opening up. Is this a bug, or have I done something wrong?

Yes, there's a secret passageway you can enter. It's entrance to it is near the fire.

Golden Goblet COMPLETE! I've now completed and submitted my game! First one to submit too. I'm very pleased with how the game turned out.  Ya'll can play it if you want if you check out the submissions.

To get the good ending, you need to beat the game quickly enough. By quickly enough, I mean in under 3 minutes. Good luck!

So far, I've been making a platformer using the platformer tutorial by Nerdy Teachers on YouTube. Progress has been good these past few days.

So far I've got the first three of four levels pretty much done. I've got the fourth and final level to do, as well as some miscellaneous stuff such as a win screen for when the game is beaten.

Thank you very much. I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed it, and I greatly appreciate the feedback.

Thank you very much. I'm very glad to see that you enjoyed it. The old-school challenge was intentional, and I felt that checkpoints could take away from that, so I decided not to implement any. Nevertheless, I appreciate the feedback :)

Thank you. I'm glad you liked it :)
