Nice job on the game - that was a lot to pull together! It took a second to find all the controls, but I probably missed instructions at the beginning.

I hope you'll have a look at one or two games from this jam I helped with:

Ha! I like the simple mechanic - get through a maze of office furniture. I got jammed next to a file cabinet on the second level and no key got me unstuck, so I didn't play to the end to see what happens when I keep pushing the button.

Music, SFX and art work great together.

I’m listening to this: https://youtu.be/CjUM-jFZ4w0?si=LkCNnPordIJ2SzPk. Is this what you were thinking? Cinematic music is Lot of fun, If that’s the case

I’m up for it! I was just listening to a few tracks from Fallout 4. Mostly synth driven, but not all. Moody for sure. I’ll listen to some more. How far along are you?

You can hear samples of my recent work at https://soundcloud.com/nicholas-palmer-4/sets/video-game-tracks . I have a playlist on the site of downloadable tracks and clips as well, if they are of use to you.

Haha, baguette language pack! I learned something today.

Thanks for all the detail! Glad you enjoyed it. The programming and art amazed me, too.

Here is my playlist of downloadable assets for your game. If you use anything, credit me and link to my SoundCloud profile.

Have fun!

In case you need some last minute music or clips, here is my growing playlist of downloadable music for game jams. If you use anything, credit me and link to my SoundCloud profile.

Congrats on finishing it alone - sometimes teams are great and sometimes they evaporate or can't get things done.

The game mechanics make it fun. The retro look and music fit well together!

I always like to test the intuitiveness of the controls and it took me a moment to realize I was supposed to click on attack, the heal button, or the item button, but once I figured out one, I knew what to do with the others.

Not all of the bosses attacked me back, so I was able to just hit attack several times in a row and take no damage.

I think the control that selects your attack power is a reference to the spin theme? Otherwise, I'm not sure what was spinning.

Try out our game, Star Contract - I did the music and some of the SFX. https://itch.io/jam/boss-rush-jam-2025/rate/3218933

Hey all! You can hear samples of my video game tracks at https://soundcloud.com/nicholas-palmer-4/sets/video-game-tracks . Good luck and have some fun (and don't stay up too late...too often)

Nice work!

I think I'm on 2 teams (one might not coalesce), so keep looking!

I'm on one team and standby for another, but I think the standby isn't going to happen.  Do you have a team put together?

You can hear samples of my video games tracks in this playlist.

I'm available to create music for a team looking for epic, electronic, ambient, or 8-bit style fragments and full tracks. You can hear samples at https://soundcloud.com/nicholas-palmer-4/sets/video-game-tracks?si=fe5af38ab0014... .

Have a listen to tracks I write for game jams this past summer. There are a few 8-bit style tracks on my site, if that makes sense for your two-color game. Good luck! https://on.soundcloud.com/NByKAen64a8Kqzvf9

I've been building a portfolio of tracks for video games and game jams in particular this summer. Have a listen! https://soundcloud.com/nicholas-palmer-4/sets/video-game-tracks

Good luck!

If you need a little music for your project, check out some of my playlists on SoundCloud. Here's the general video game playlist: https://soundcloud.com/nicholas-palmer-4/sets/video-game-tracks Good luck, everyone!

I've been busy this summer writing tracks for game jams or just for fun exploring different sonic environments. You can hear samples on this playlist - you might be interested especially the quiet mood tracks: https://soundcloud.com/nicholas-palmer-4/sets/video-game-tracks

I’m looking into this. You can hear sample samples of 8-bit style music on my SoundCloud webpage, but obviously these won’t work on GB. https://on.soundcloud.com/zAn3nVu5agjVEyzE8

This is a fun game! Easy to figure out and get better at quickly.

Some samples on SoundCloud:  https://on.soundcloud.com/TvTT54hkTSX5yCev6

I’ve been writing some tunes and short related clips for game jams this summer, including some 8-bit style tracks. For this jam, I think you would want even more strictly 8-bit sounds (no FX added), but have a listen to this playlist (look for 8-bit) and see if I might fit your team. https://on.soundcloud.com/898HyVcNjfijXBR68

Here are some tracks for games, including tracks for horror-themed games and some 8-bit themes for another jam with the theme “Shadow and alchemy”. Downloadable tracks are titled “Game Jam xxx” if you find something useful. Just credit me and link to my profile on itch or SoundCloud.  https://on.soundcloud.com/cRYPsNS3scA3MowDA

Discord can’t seem to find you by that name. Am I doing it wrong?

I'm building a collection of short tracks (either clips or themes) suitable for game play and available for free at https://soundcloud.com/nicholas-palmer-4/sets/game-jam-horror-jam-2024 . I added a second track today with a comic horror theme and eight clips [June 26].

Do you have your audio and music?

I love writing emotional music (fun, sad, mysterious, scary) in a variety of styles. I also have some familiarity with Wwise, if that is helpful. If you don’t have your music lined up yet, I need the practice! Here are a couple of tracks to check out on my SoundCloud page: https://m.soundcloud.com/nicholas-palmer-4
