Note: we're aware there's still a fatal crash at the start of Blind Accessible mode. We're tracking this down, but in the meantime we suggest leaving your "Game Mode Select" on the Blind Accessible option until the description is being read (about 10 seconds) before pressing enter.

Thanks! We had so much fun playtesting it and discovering different ways to collect the coins/block the ball.

Thank you! That’s a really good suggestion. Our “AI” is very primitive as neither of us are programmers, so you’re absolutely right that a “max hits” would’ve been a great idea.

thank you so much! One half of our team are gold nerds so coming up with the score text was a lot of fun :D

thanks so much for the feedback!

Thanks so much! Totally agree, a way to adjust camera was on our stretch goals list. The mouse visible was just a mistake I forgot to fix 😂

Tab and Enter we kept different so folks with tremors or shakes wouldn’t accidentally start and then immediately skip their turn, but better button choices were definitely needed. In an ideal world, rebinding!

thanks! Could you elaborate a bit so we know how we can improve it? :)

thank you so much!

Printer-friendly version now up!

The colour coding isn’t necessary at all (the icons are all different to be colour blind accessible) but I get what you mean! Will see what we can do 🥳

Can’t see why not! Just black & white? With or without the item art?

Deliciously dark, disturbing and distinct. I really enjoyed the focus on the characters which all felt very unique. A very colourful piece of interactive fiction and +100 points for a colour blind friendly mode!

Thanks very much! Neither of us are well versed in audio so apologies for the lack of compression. Re: game length, we’ve kept it to one branch/3 mini games just to give the game a “demo” feel and stay within scope for what our two person team could manage! We feel we’ve managed to showcase the concept and mechanics well with a decent level of polish, given the time constraints. Glad you enjoyed it!

Thank you! We’re very proud whenever our narrator gets compliments as he did such a great job and it really makes his day to hear people enjoying it!

Thanks so much for the video!

I'm so sorry - it looks like you had a massive issue with the text printing reeeeallly slowly (in the video on the comment below/the trailer shows it printing at the expected rate).

This is probably just a byproduct of inefficient jam code, no optimisation time, and the spec of our development PCs not showing this issue. Please accept our heartfelt apologies!

We've had an unexpected amount of positive feedback, so we are hoping to sink some more time into developing the game. But hopefully this little (buggy) demo has shown it's potential.

On an additional note, our most requested feature is a skip button, so once that's in it should alleviate any needless waiting!

Thanks! We’re glad you enjoyed our twist on text-based! ^^

Thank you so much! We weren’t expecting to get so much positive feedback from our humble little game jam game! Thanks for the gameplay video, sorry about our tree hit boxes. There is a lot we didn’t get to refine in that week, but it looks like we’ll need to release some updates soon!

Thank you so much! We’re so glad you enjoyed it. We had a lot of fun making the game for the jam and we would love to improve and build upon it (free time allowing haha!).

Thank you! The game branches, so if you fail the fruit gathering game, you end up on a different path!

We are a two-person team, our friend James offered to do the writing and narration, but didn’t wish to be credited as part of the game jam submission. :)

Thank you! :)

Thanks so much!

Aw yay! Text-centric friends! :D

Thank you so much! ^^

Thank you ^^

(1 edit)

Hi there! Thanks so much for your feedback and your positive comments! We had a great time developing it and we're glad you appreciated the focus we put on accessibility and online play. We shall revise the belly rub prompt!
Thanks again,

The Tour of Murder House was created for the Abertay #SpookJam2018 against the theme "House of Horrors". We're a small team (2 people) who make board games in our spare time and at game jams, and we made this one in 48 hours.

The Tour is a cooperative dice-rolling board game for up to 4 players (or possibly more, we've tested with up to 4 but the mechanics should scale just fine). You play as the ghostly inhabitants of the Murder House, trying to scare to death tourists before your home become a Most Haunted tourist hotspot!

You can find out more about the game by visiting it's itch.io page, where you can find the full contents of the download and more information on the gameplay. If you have any questions we'd be happy to answer them!

If you like games like Elder Sign, King of Tokyo, Zombie Dice or Age of War you should enjoy this. It's also cooperative so if you're  fan of Pandemic or The Forgotten Island then you should also enjoy this!

We want to create games we love and share them instead of having them sit on a shelf in a cupboard for no one else to enjoy, and we found that providing them on a platform like itch.io is the perfect choice. You get games for the same price as a coffee, and we get to buy ourselves that coffee on you! (Although there are two of us, so we'll be fighting over what flavour and iced or not iced). Anyhow, we hope it's something that works for you, and we're looking forward to sharing our games the way they should be!
