I'm probably gonna delete this game soon. I don't know why I tried to make a game in a new engine then submit it when I knew it was horrible.  I am going to stay with my normal engine so I can make decent games.

Thanks for the feedback.

Wasn't intented but I'm feeling those vibes. I wasn't even done with the game when the jam ended so there was a lot I couldn't import and I used a new engine. The game is a buggy, almost unplayable mess.

Just watched the stream, you were supposed to shoot at the red squares that would shoot back at you and the challenge was mirroring your bullets to shoot enemies that go behind you but the spawning system was broken. I admit it was horrible (being my first project in that engine). I agree with a lot of the points you made but this game is just something I made for the jam and I don't plan on going back even to fix it. Thanks for the feedback!

omg, I never expected my games to be played on stream. I'll definitely check out the vod. This is my first project using the construct game engine and I didn't have time to import the soundtrack I JUST had made for the game so it wasn't the best but I'm always looking for feedback to improve.

I just need a main soundtrack for my game. If you need any specific details, contact me on discord: XDev#3450.

Alright, the name Gamedev.js confused me and made me think I needed to use JS. Thanks for confirming.

Name explains it

Ah, I noticed a big build problem. In the zip file there is a folder called Infinite Tower Platformer_Data but your .exe is named build 2.exe. You need to change Infinite Tower Platformer_Data to Build 2_Data or Unity can't load it properly.

Nice, I'll check it out soon

I have a year expirience with unity and I enjoy using it. If you have any questions just ask me!

Nice, what engine are you using?

No problem, it's a great game for a game jam. This is my 6th game jam and my game is terrible.

Wow, amazing use of the theme and the transitions and camera effects are stunning. Great job!

This is my 6th game jam, im used to making games fast.

I decided to make a simple game and I'm already almost done!

Oof, just joined and 18 hours left...no sleep for me.

Is this unity? If so then instead of collisonInfo.collider.tag=="1", use collisionInfo.collider.gameObject.CompareTag("1")

nice

Unity's particle system is a great system. Just click stuff and  stuff happens.

Yeah, the limitation fits an fps game pretty well. Just make it on a different planet.

Wow, you work fast. I just finished planning and I'm about to open Unity.

tbh im still planning

Yeah, I'm planning right now and I have some ideas

I use unity

Lol, you made some common mistakes.

I have never made a 3D game but I can't think of any 2D uses of the limitation.

Ah, might be a problem to find an engine. I use Unity but it only supports C#. I'll do some research though.

What's the language? I can find game engines that use it.

I'd recommend you get an idea, make it simpler and make it simpler again.

No, save polish for last. Work on gameplay mainly. Trying to make a visually appealing game and not focusing on the gameplay will make the project fail. Save visuals for last, gameplay is the most important part of a jam game. This is my 7th jam and I've been using Unity for a year but during my first jam, I made these same mistakes. Also, it doesn't need to be story focused. There are many types of games and I would NOT recommend story focused games to a beginner.
If you need any help, feel free to ask me.

I fully agree with these tips. This is my 7th jam and I made these mistakes during my first few jams. Time is the most important thing in game jams although people sometimes don't realise the amount of time in jams is not much.

This is my 7th jam so I have some experience. I would recommend you scope low and focus on time. You won't have time to finish everything so prioritise important mechanics and leave polish for any extra time you have. Don't worry if it looks nice, the people who vote are also devs so we all understand!

yeah, of course.

Might reach out when im ready for music

wow that was really cool
