Thank you for letting me know! there was one too many anonymous users but they have all been purged and it should be running smoothly again! :D

Check it out! https://notb.itch.io/nftpets

I wrote up some more instructions and tried to lay out the nodes more neatly on the screen. Thank you for all the feedback.

As for it not being a game, ironically, you've described exactly how it actually is a game. Except, it's not explicitly telling you to make a certain sound. You have to imagine a sound in your head and the puzzle is realizing it. It's a sandbox game, like Minecraft or something. A space to explore and create within.

Thank you for the feedback! Also, thanks for hosting this jam, I really like the theme. :) I am really sorry that you found it too confusing and that it caused a headache, that's not intended at all. I can put a warning on the loading page, that's a good idea.

I thought it fit well with the theme because Charlie is certainly aware that he's in a game. There's no dialogue or character development within the game but it's in the texts around it. Beyond the fourth wall, though, and asking metaphysical questions in general, like what is music?  what is art? Am I producing this art or is it the machine? who is the artist? am i just teaching an artist or is the machine an extension of me? you know, that kind of thing. That's what CHARLIE is all about.

Thanks for hosting this! I hope my game fits in here :)

Feel free to use anything you produce with it as you see fit. I did change the sequencing controls to immediately affect the currently playing track. I think it adds some exppresiveness in that you can also shift the start and end of the loop as its playing, and you won’t ‘lose’ the sequence generated. You can still have a different tempo on all four tracks, but you’ll always “hear” tempo changes now.

Thank you so much for the feedback. I will probably revist how this works and I will take this into account. The sequence controls are likely to expand. I’m looking into ways to ‘select’ a track rather than just add/remove so i might have to change it for this !

EDIT: Adding a new sequence will not immediately play it anymore. So after you add it, set the tempo, and then press play when you're ready.

Much appreciated. You will be happy to know I've released a standalone version!
