that's cool, just maybe give another option... one thing I particularly admire is the real bounce, it doesn't just bounce back, but it bounces in all directions, I need to try and implement something like that in a demo or something.  anyways, keep it going, inspiring!

holding down space and moving with your other fingers just feels very awkward, I do like the game, however.

yay you did it

easy enough...?

very nice, once you shoot the play button, rofl

Awkward, but good prototype.  Keep up the good work, also bright screen for the game background hurts the eyes, dark mode is a better option.

How does one play this game?  There are no instructions in the game or on this screen?  Otherwise looks like it might be fun.

very cool! thanks for sharing. Maniac Mansion vibes

Full screen doesn't show the entire screen... Super awkward rotation mechanic... looks like it could be fun but definitely needs some work.  Honestly can't say much more because from my perspective, in it's current state... unplayable.  Thanks for sharing.

I don't see an option to rate the game, but if I could, I would choose 5 out of 5.  Great graphics, mechanics and gameplay is addicting, thanks for sharing!

I lost interest with all the text at the intro, of course, the main reason is that I was only getting less than 10 FPS in game.  So other than recommending a higher frame rate (closer to 60 FPS), I would also recommend allowing gameplay and the tutorial is more passive based on what the player is currently doing / needing to do.  I downloaded it and installed the .net core because it looks promising, thanks for sharing and good luck with future updates.  My CPU is i5, 32 GB RAM DDR4, GPU is 2GB Vram with GT 1030, so I'm not surprised by the low frames per second.

very nice!

no comments so far, does anyone play this? it looks cool

Thanks for playing and the feedback!  Yes, I already have some tables of colors that I've used in the Space Trader game, one for Asteroids' colors, and one with different shades of blue for Ice Crystals.

Anyways, take care,

Jeff

I was able to track down the problem of the shaders not being saved in UTF-8 encoding, so if that's the problem for you, just load them in notepad and save them back again... I guess? Hopefully I will have the correct settings in Visual Studio so that when I save the shaders, folks on the other end won't have to implement this change if their system isn't already set up to save "appropriately".... anyways, there's that solution.

Ok, I watched someone live had the same problem (they were streaming the game and I was able to narrow down the problem and this solution fixed it), but if you save the file as UTF-8 encoding, it will eliminate the Unicode errors, not sure why this happens, but I blame my lack of understanding the plethora of settings available in Visual Studio.  Anyways, hope this helps, and I will try to update the files for these two demos upon next release... in fact, that may be the next release.

Thanks again,

Jeff

ok, thanks, that helps me, the space trader re-factor and the game jam game both used the same project files ... hmmm

Hey guys, I had an error report, that this was not even running, anybody out there that can confirm this works or not on their system please?  Thanks.

Sorry to hear that, what operating system? Video card? are you using?  That's the only thing that I can think of without more information... I wonder if there's a file missing that I need to include... if you try any of my other demos let me know if they at least run for you, that would probably help me narrow down the issue, whatever it may be.

Thanks for trying and letting me know about the error.

Jeff

TeenyShire

both versions crash and do not run for me...

Would recommend making the download a .zip file, windows has all kind of issues with the .exe download.  I was able to download after multiple lines of questioning.... anyways, wish me luck with it, I'll give it a try.

I saw Vim play your other game, and noticed this one, it's fun!  Looks like it's been 3 years since you've worked on it, are you interested in picking it back up again?  I feel that it has some good potential!   I featured it on my channel here:

Anyways, thanks for sharing!  The time stamp should be 52:56, I didn't know it would post the link that way...

Huge Terraria vibes, needs a very verbose tutorial, great job.  plus how do I earn health back after losing it?  Thanks for sharing.

search better! rofl, I don't even know what it looks like...

game looks great, the jump is kinda weird, I couldn't find any hover cars, and not sure where my base was anyways, thanks for sharing.

I got stuck during transition from one spot to the next when the road let's you go to the next screen, but on the next screen you are stuck behind a rock, it's the page with the bird that wants an egg? anyways, great and fun, adorable game, thanks for sharing!

I like it, very nicely done.

I love it, so cute, and the mechanic with the lantern is very nice, kind of unique!  Great job!
