yeah :( this is due to a timestamp bug.  I took the game down to update it with the patched version but itch won't let me put a new version up while the jam is ongoing. I'll upload the patched version as soon as the jam is over :)

Did this without an engine :) pretty pleased with how it turned out https://ofrank.itch.io/cafe-obscura

thanks so much! I haven't figured out how to draw non-fucked up guys yet ;)

thank you fellow food service simulator creator

thanks for playing :)

Maybe the player should be able to eject their heart at unruly guests ;)

Looks great!  I think it's lacking some ergonomics and the levels are a little flat right now, but nothing that couldn't be fixed with some more time!  Love the boomer shooter vibe, I really think you nailed it :)

Yeah it's a little on the tricky side right now.  Thanks for playing though!

We'll see if I get around to adding more stuff to it :)

Thanks so much!

thanks so much!  but yours is cooler ;)

Nice and cosy cooking experience, didn't give me an overwhelming sense of doom like some of the other games in this jam :)

As everyone else says the watercolor is so so cool!  Congrats on getting all this done, and the general vibe is quite cool too :)

Yeah man totally agree haha, thanks for playing!

Hey, cool concept!  I think some transition between up/down would be nice though, right now it's quite jarring.  Nice work getting it in so early as well haha :)

Nice work, loved the art!  I couldn't really tell what I was supposed to be doing, or how some of the mechanics worked, maybe I am stupid though :(  Great amount of content it seems though, especially considering the timeframe.

Big ups for the whole doing-it-in-C thing.  Mine is similar but in Zig.  The gameplay is really cool!  I wish there was some sort of health/score or something though, otherwise it's hard to tell if there's a goal or anything.   Also unfortunately it crashed about a minute in... Nice work though!

Did you resonate with ------

Made me feel like smoked meth.  Loved it

Hey nice game, the retro graphics were cool!  When I got hit it always felt a little random, as I didn't really have any time to react.  It's also a little tricky to read what Lilith was saying, while playing the game at the same time.  Great work though!

Great puzzle game!  I'm not sure I'm feeling the aberration theme so much, but it's impressive how polished everything feels for a jam :)

God I love gambling

I like all the work you put into the narrative!  I got stuck on the fight unfortunately, and my health just kept getting bigger so I couldn't restart it :( Nice work though, I had fun playing through the narrative, and being able to make choices was nice!

I totally agree haha, I wanted to make it so the recipes and stuff get introduced over time, with a little introduction, but to be honest I ran out of time :(

Or perhaps because I didn't have time to make a tutorial ;)

Hey man!  I also wrote mine in Zig, although I targeted the web.  My game isn't finished yet, but if you wanna check it out the code is on github :) https://github.com/ofrank123/acerola-jam.  I'd also really recommend something like https://www.raylib.com/ if you don't want to deal with all the hardware abstraction BS next time ;)
