What do you like about your game?
I'm really satisfied with how the style came out at the end. All my life I've always had a hard time with art, most of my drawings are really bad. However, for this jam I decided to study some color theory and going with a stylized look for my game. Maybe this style won't be everyone's favorite, but I'm still satisfied with the end result. I hope to keep improving this skill as I keep making more games. Another thing I really enjoyed was writing the dialogue for Lilith, I hope players find her enjoyable.

cute game but the controls are far too rigid and there’s too much downtime (where there’s no enemies)
I agree with the previous comment. The difficulty of the game never really got any higher, but if it did get appreciably harder, I wouldn't be able to read the story. It's definitely a hard balance to find. The emotional state definitely didn't feel impactful. If it changed my fire pattern, like sad made them fire in a crying-like downward arc, angry was a charged burst/blast, then I would have to pay attention to it and it would tie the narrative and gameplay together a lot more cleanly.
It's very polished with really nice music and sound design (if not a bit annoying due to how high pitched the sounds are). You have really unique creature designs too!
The game struggles a bit with it's difficulty. It's pretty easy to just hold down fire and go through most of the level, especially with the upgrades to shooting. But I'm not sure if it should be harder since it would make it harder to read the dialogue. I feel like it still needs a bit of work to balance the visual novel aspects with the action since you can only have your attention on one or the other (at least I do.) I also didn't feel that her emotions changed the game enough. I kinda just kept shooting away at enemies.
With a bit more work put into combining these two genres, I feel this could be a really unique game you won't be able to find anywhere else!
Loved the design so much it oozes that nostalgia feeling out of it's pores, Like the whole thing with the screen closing in and opening up as the level appears is such a cool thing to see in this game. Also the music is on point and really cheerful and inviting, the game was easy to follow and gave me good vibes the whole experience.
Great stuff!
Wow, outstanding work! Glad I found it throughout 1k submissions)
The art and dialogs is great. Also the music creates such a supernatural a vibe.
Nice. I did like it. Art was good
funky artstyle gives me gameboy vibes. gameplay is a like a shmup combined with vampire sruvivors
I liked the visual style of the game, and the dialog was pretty entertaining, it really sold the character of Lilith. The gameplay felt a bit simple, but I think it also opened up more space for the dialog and the style.
love the sprite work
Hey nice game, the retro graphics were cool! When I got hit it always felt a little random, as I didn't really have any time to react. It's also a little tricky to read what Lilith was saying, while playing the game at the same time. Great work though!
Looked great, loved the visuals and sound design. Mechanic was cool and worked well, getting extra shots was pretty overpowered though. Once she said she couldn't wait to rest no more enemies came and I wanted a while but nothing happened. Cool character though and cool building of the narrative through the gameplay.

Loved it, the gothness, the humor, being bred by moody Lilith.
