ahh interesting! that sounds like a fun game jam.

Are you working on anything else?

oh ya, ill be your friend!

I see, will you be telling a story through all this hacking?

Yo i played your game! i loved your tutorial and writing.

how did you come to the idea of not shooting while moving?

i would like to see more. in your plans you say

"add points for successful hacks."

how would the point system work?

Project GearJump is an non-traditional runner where you switch between 3 types of jumps as you explore, escape, avoid and leap through each planet in our solar system. All wrapped in a compelling story about duty and having yourself as company.

This game will be a journey through our solar system all the way from the Oort cloud.

This demo focuses on the first level and a 3 jump mechanic.

The 3 jumps
Switch between 3 gears that alter your jump arch by pressing [I], [O] and [P] on your keyboard.

Jump Gear 1 – Small arch jump
Jump Gear 2 – Long jump, low arch
Jump Gear 3 – High jump, narrow arch

With these constraints on your jump, you are forced to judge every gap and obstacle you come across.

:D This is good stuff!

I enjoyed playing it, that's for sure, and i do think it has potential.

I tried to approach it a couple ways and i personally think that the first person to attack is at a disadvantage and its too easy to just overpower the enemy if you play defensively.

I would like to try a version with  more unit types and formations (or the ability to move a group of people to a specific area)

Its good stuff and if you decide to continue with it and manage to nail it i think it will be a strong game!

Oh awesome! im looking forward to seeing your new stuff

Awesome! well if you want feedback or anything just let me know!

You're hoping to come back to it? What are you going to do in the meantime ?

Well it was just that the viewport showing the thief was blocking the thief as i was trying to chasing him/her down.

And i was wondering about your decision to hide the stats? I personally click to show them straight away every time and just wondered why they where hid in the first place.

but that was all!

hmmm i see, that sounds super interesting!

I would love to play a demo when you have it.

Is this an RPG?  Is there a battle system? is it random? are there dungeons? or are you still deciding these things?

XD hahahahah i didnt clean a spill when i went to get someones shopping and an old lady bit the dust.

The game has a good quality to it, i actually played it for a little while. i managed to get a C grade.  I like what you got so far.  do you plan to have separate levels or just ramp the difficulty up every so often ?

in my opinion Its hard to keep track of the mouse and character especially coming out of that zoomed in view when running through the isles. It took me a minute to figure out what to do in that view.

There are a 2 other things less important. It just depends if you want more in depth feedback.

Keep it up, im looking forward to see where you take it!

I honestly appreciate that!

Thank you so much!

Yeah those jumps are a little bit tricky on the timing, i like those jumps because you have to wait a fraction longer than you are comfortable with  before pressing the jump button. but once you get the timing its easy,  but its still possible to mess up if you aren't paying attention.

Its supposed to keep you on your toes so to speak and the timing is something you have to learn but its not supposed to be flat out frustrating so ill keep an eye on that.

Thanks again, I appreciate your feedback

This is amazing! Though im sure you already knew that.

:D

simple and very nice.

The edge of the snow and the water match up. Im not sure why but that jumped out at me but it did, i don't know if that's useful information :D

and as @Benevolentwanderer mentioned the grass in the shade should be darker because  for me it looks like it glows .....which is a cool effect in its own right but i don't think that's what you are going for.

Keep up the good work!

Hi, i needed to add an options menu to my title screen but my title screen doesn't have much space so this is what i came up with.

Having the menu fade in and out as the main element on the screen over the title logo.
What do you think? is it good/bad? what would have you done?
