thank you, i want to make another mouse-controlled game sometime

thank you for the nice comment, glad you had fun

tried playing this on my Windows 11 computer and the intro was glitchy since I mostly can't click on buttons (can't hit the play button on the main menu either).
Let me know if there's a fix for this problem.

yeah it's definitely someone else, I think I would remember if I had ever released a platformer engine called pulseman. The only engine I ever posted was for a 2d car with proper wheel physics, in collaboration with a user named icuurd.

I'm a little confused, I don't think I ever made anything called pulseman.gmk... what is the name of the music track?

this was challenging & cool

ty

really cool, I had a lot of fun.
suggestions:

-Let W key also jump, this would make me much more comfortable with the controls

-Give players an option to switch so you can teleport with left click instead of right click

-I didn't get too far, level 10 I think, but I hope there will be some moving enemies that you can fight with using left click, everything is somewhat sterile in these first levels but it could be easily improved by some floating enemies or something that you can left click on

I can't wait to see the next version. Great job again with the sound, graphics, everything.

you're the last game developer I would ever guess was colorblind...

Thanks for playing. Well done! I'm impressed that you collected all the gems on your first try.

thanks for the nice feedback!

my primary concern for the game is the area with the death blocks that blink on/off. It seemed like at certain moments they are a little unfair perhaps. Glad you enjoyed the experience :)

thanks Chad! that reflective area was inspired by some of the rooms in Tower of Heaven

thanks! using tab to switch between weapons definitely feels nicer

great work on all those gun reloading animations btw, super smooth

really cool!

I'm not sure I understand the control system. Maybe you could make it so you can just scroll thru your weapons by pressing Tab (like in halo CE). Also the shotgun controls are a bit peculiar to me since it doesn't reload (cycle) automatically.

Anyway I had a lot of fun and will play some more later. Don't get bogged down by all my critique because overall this is quite enjoyable.

Didn't have time to go all the way yet but the first 4 levels were cool

lol funny

New Record! 404

Most important was having the "clone" spell and the "turn into a gem" spell. I would just stay on a stage really long and keep making clones and turning them into gems. Unfortunately I got greedy at the end and was overwhelmed by huge numbers of spawning enemies :D

This game has a good bit of replayability.

can hardly believe I solved puzzle 14 without hints. tough, but fair!

puzzle 12 is the first one that doesn't seem fair (yeah, I got thru the "verbose" one without hints!)

antonyms for "preserved" make me think of "spoiled," "rotten", "decayed," etc. and after getting 100% hints I find that it's "revised"?? made no sense to me. still enjoying it tho

Cool, I'm on level 8 atm (haven't used any hints yet). Any reason why it doesn't automatically take you to the next puzzle after completing one and pressing Enter?

I've played a lot of scrabble and word games so I feel like I'm pretty good at this but I imagine a lot of people won't know what an antonym or anagram is. Anyway, great work!

Thank you. I wish there was a way to contact TimeWraith and see if he has made any more games. Right now I only know of 2, Xorpl and The Puppeteer.

Drop down into the purple lava area (the first hole in the ground you encounter), then when you get to the snow area don't go into the first green pipe you encounter, keep going further ahead and you will find another green pipe which leads to an alternate ending. It's true the other ending is just to follow one of the other paths and be pacifist.

There's actually 3 different endings IIRC, the other 2 aren't too bad. Let me know if you want hints.

this is kinda cool

thanks BHD,

if you want I can get you a link to Xorpl, it should still be on the yoyogames sandbox archive

Thank you for the nice comment, Teff!

I finally completed it!

Have to say I liked it a lot but towards the end the last 2 bones left were making me rage... because once you fail in your movement you basically just sit there 20 more seconds doing nothing until the game gives you a chance again in the same area.

I respect the graphics too. Nice work!

just played for a couple seconds, fun idea... when I have more time I'll try to play this through. I always like your adventure games. How do you manage to keep making games all the time? Glad you're able to stick with it... I keep getting distracted by other things.

New Record! 205 (my score upon completing the last level)

If I had known that was the last level I would have kept killing monsters and tried to increase my score even more.

It wasn't a serious problem. I had just ended my previous run because I was doomed, so the error message (which appeared after I tried to start a new game) just meant that I had to abort the game and then reopen it to play again. I've played more runs and haven't run into the error again yet.

I gave up on a game because I was going to die, and then when I tried to start a new game I got this message:

Very minor bug found:

-I had to click to revive a creature, but first I wanted to see what kind of tablet I had so I opened that part of the hud, when I hit the "close" button not only did it close the "tablets" hud thing, it also revived some creature that was directly where the "close" button was.

Also, I reached 91!

thanks I didn't realize I could use WASD

I appreciate the guts it takes to do such an unusual experiment with this clock mechanic. Risky in my eyes as a game developer, but definitely seems to have paid off since the game is quite fun.

My best score is 63

I got one of the spells that turns enemies into 5 point gems but eventually it got me :P

hey man this is really cool, i do get a kick out of the cartoony illustrations & expressions on the character.

Some ideas:
-maybe the swirl background on the menu could rotate a little bit faster, it might look cooler that way

-Is it possible to put an option in the settings for computer users so they don't have to swipe using the mouse, but instead just click in the direction they want to attack (you can display an arrow pointing towards the mouse from the wizard character, to show whether the mouse is pointing you up,down, left or right). I understand this game is primarily for mobile users so don't get too bogged down on this idea if you don't want to.

-Is there a reason you haven't put in any screenshake for when the player zaps enemies & uses spells to attack them? It just seems like that would make me feel more powerful if the whole game shakes when I attack.

BTW these sound effects are pretty great. Will definitely be playing this game some more.

indeed they are, that's why it's important to frequently switch to your rifle when you are walking forward so you can see further ahead and see them before they see you. thanks for the donation!! :) P.S. there is a secret hidden in the menu

thank you my good man! I'm trying to add some other elements to make the game more interesting, will make a devlog post on the project when I update it so hopefully everyone will be notified. Appreciate your comments on the ledge clambering. In my opinion ledge clambering is perhaps the most beautiful feature to have in a platform game.

thank you for the comment. Sadly I haven't worked on it for a couple years

Microsoft Defender automatically deletes this as soon as I download it, not sure exactly how to get around that. Did you use Game Maker or some other IDE?

sweeeet, i might buy these sometime, although I would probably modify the colors since my graphics are usually a little more neon colored. Did you think about adding an explosion sound effect for each explosion in the YT video? :) Great work fawful

thank you, its been a few years and I realize there's some design problems like i may have made the levels too large. but thanks for commmenting!
