a sensual experience

Rats

The concept is quite compelling and the design of the sound and appearance of the cat makes for a tense puzzle game. The design of the puzzle level itself was tricky and didn't feel like it made the most of controlling and positioning multiple rats, as only one felt like it could be saved if it was left outside the safe zones so you only used one.

Was surprised by this one, the rat king growing as you gain powerups is a great concept and it was executed in a way that really exemplified the idea while not ignoring the careful gameplay balance that a lot of vampire survivors like clones tend to. I didn't get to play it multiple times to get a sense of the amount of variation between runs, but it felt as though there was a lot of attention put into matching the pace and number of enemies with the ridiculous regeneration of the player. That delicate gameplay felt alright here which is hard for these games so kudos.

Besides that the hard cap of 50 cheese really just lead to so many cats spawning it slowed down the game at which I intentionally had to end, getting a score of around 46220 I think. The sound effects were really great but the game could do with a backing track. In the same vein the sprites and UI are neat and clean but a background for the stage would be good. Other than that this was an amazing interpretation and implementation of the theme and was very engaging. Well done!

This is really damn fun, awesome submission guys. The game felt super flowy and cute, the only thing is I wish there was an explosion or other sound effect when you hit a target to add to the impact. I enjoyed this a lot though and had to stop myself from replaying to much trying to get all the targets. With how large the stage is and the level of polish it's a really impressive game to make within the jam time.

This game has some structure that makes for a fun little arcade rat game and the 2.5d view adds a lot.  The sprites used and collision physics of things could be touched up a bit as they are a bit rudimentary and interact weirdly with the 3d space, leading to some jank that got in the way of smooth play. I really appreciated the inclusion of the arcadey music track and sfx, which really helped to frame the rough and frantic feeling meant for the rat race, good choice!

Games with mechanics centred around gathering and getting larger like this are ones I quite enjoy. It would be awesome to see this taken a step further to the rat king mechanic towards something like the Agar.io or Tasty Planet games. Wish it focused on the idea scaling the rat's growth more and had background noise that was a bit less grating than mouse chittering, but still interesting concept for the jam's theme!

Tight gameplay and stunning visuals! AND somehow fit in a cutscene?? Super sick

I used to love classic quick-to-complete escape room mobile games and had just as much fun with this! Only thing is the lockbox item drops seemed a bit inconsistent but could just be skill issue :p

Couldn't stop playing until I took the world record away from Ciaran in at least one of the level... oh and because it was a very wonderfully refined gameplay loop, well done!
