For a prototype build this VN has some intriguing world building ideas that left me curious to learn more about the setting and direction that the plot would take.

The current build is quite rough however, and suffers from a fair bit of copy editing issues in the form of typos and inconsistent capitalization. There’s also a certain awkwardness to the narration, which endeavours to pack in a lot of exposition about the setting while leaving more immediate details unstated. As an example, the narration goes into some detail about the origins of its post apocalyptic setting without clearly establishing how much time has passed since the collapse of the old civilization.

These issues aside, there are good foundations for a plot and setting here, and what art, sprites, and music are present in this early build all fit the narrative and game well. There’s lots of potential here.

A nice self-contained little story, with a fair bit of heart behind it. The project could benefit from some additional copy editing; and it would have been nice to see some more exploration of the blob’s nature or origins as their bond with the bear grows deeper. Overall a good story that would benefit from a bit more polish.

To get the best ending you need to pick the correct donut at all three points.

Spoiler Warning

Day One: Maple Donut, Day Two: Blueberry Donut, Day Three: Mint and Honey Donut

That should unlock the best ending and the bonus scene for you.

It's all about picking the right donuts! There are a few hints dropped for each choice throughout the game (and maybe a hint on the title screen as well)

The pacing here is very good, the story moves in a methodical way and delivers some excellent implied world building as it goes. It's very impressive how strong an impression the setting makes and how many elements the reader can infer considering the short length, especially as this is largely accomplished without awkward stretches of exposition. The interface and overall presentation are solid, and of course it's always fantastic to see a sci-fi setting where the fashion and look isn't limited to present day European/North American with minor changes. The VN also does a great job foreshadowing the true nature of the experiment without giving away the reveal at the end.

Setting aside the question of whether you can really call a VN where the only wolf character is the protagonist a My Wolf story, this is an enjoyable experience that explores interesting concepts in a satisfying way.

Certainly a unique take on the theme, but undeniably on point!

Not being from anywhere within the vicinity of Finland I suspect there were plenty of references that were over my head, but the story of rural communities annexed into the tax base of urban centers, with zero benefits to show for it years later, transcends national boundaries (my childhood was spent in just such a community incorporated into a greater municipal area and the VNs closing images were chillingly relatable).

The prose is quick and effective, the characterization of the main characters/administrative divisions is well conveyed, and the mid 00s vibes are solid. An overall enjoyable and entertaining project, and it taught me a bit of Finnish urban history and municipal law trivia which I will definitely never need, but which is still nice to know!

Whoops, this is our first Itch project for everyone on the team so we missed that; should be fixed now though.

I don't want to speak for our programmer but some help might be appreciated, we were hoping to have the Android version ready to go with the others but it proved to be a bit trickier than we'd anticipated.
