Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I can't take too much credit for the art/music as I'm just using RPG Maker premade assets for now, but hopefully I can replace them with something even better down the line.

Thank you for playing, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I think I'll definitely work on it some more after the game jam is fully over with some more rooms types and weapons. I also like that idea for optional enemies, I'll have to figure out what kind of rewards would fit best since I want to limit levelling up to a boss reward only.
