A nice start. The arts stands out to me and the set-up does have me intrigued. I do like the prayer system to hide as it's unique for a game and does make sense given the context.  I think the monster spawns a little too often as I was basically running to the bathroom about every minute. Maybe it's on my end, but the chase music was very loud compared to the other sounds. Enjoyed this little demo and will happily wait for more.

I have been waiting for this game for about 2 years and dropped everything I was doing to play this once I found out you released this. I was blown away by Cursed 2 and it's one of my favorites on this site. Cursed 3 is fantastic with great RPG elements, beautiful graphics, challenge, and enemies and bosses that feel unique from each other. I have gotten the true ending and was surprised where you went with it, but I was glad I got to experience it.

The puzzles in general were challenging and I had to really work my brain to figure out what to do next. With no guide at the time I am writing this, I was completely on my own and am glad for it since my progress felt much more rewarding every time I figured it out (never did figure out the super slider puzzle). The story really ramped up toward the end and it was interesting to see much more of the lore we got a glimpse of from the first game. It was cool to see the 3 games tie together and I feel this was a nice send off for the trilogy.

However, there a few things I will address on the downside. The cutscene before the true final boss is glitched and will loop. Skipping it will have the game glitch out but mine eventually fixed and I got to resume the fight. The music always kept looping during the ring attacks. The midnight danger is an interesting idea, but I ended up just barricading myself in the bathroom every time, so it just felt like something I had to sit through rather than a real threat I truly needed to prepare for. The currency system makes the game way too easy since ammo never becomes a problem anymore.

Speaking of too easy, the pot lid shield is broken. Most enemies can be countered by quick switching to it. It might have been better to not include the shield other than the later part of the game and encourage players to go for stuns to survive encounters. Lastly, the shadow monster never feels like a true threat since ignoring him works. Maybe he should have been the threat you need to hide from.

Overall, I really enjoyed my time playing this game and hope it gets the love and attention it deserves. This is certainly one of my favorites. It's a great horror game with quite a few jumps, fun gameplay, and classic puzzles. Cheers to you and I am looking forward to your next projects.

(1 edit)

I'm still in disbelief this is rpgmaker. Overall a fun puzzle game with many grizzly demises done in nice pixel art. The true ending of the game really threw me for a loop but it was worth all the torment to get. Fantastic job.

Even though this is a humorous game, the guy peeking from the closet made me jump and the ending where you fast forward through some parts is genuinely horrifying. The sudden ad that plays near the attic was the absolute highlight of this game.  Good job!

This game kinda reminds me of Deep Fear. Not bad for a prototype, but there are things I want to point out. For one, the model of Thuy looks hilarious with her legs being 3x the size of her torso. The model is also tiny compared to the environment and this is easy to notice when she's against doors or a control panel that looks like it was made for giants. The combat is too easy as I can hold the z key until the enemy dies without any danger, eliminating the feeling of fear as I can't die. The voice acting is a little distracting with Thuy having an echo and the captain being a little quiet sometimes. I do look forward to the final product but these are some things you should consider.

Well this is interesting. I found the original Turtle Head last week and when I finished, I thought to myself "Well that sucked." Imagine my surprise when I see this game trending. I gave it a try just to see how much of a change from the original there was and to be honest, my expectations were low.

I was blown away.

This game is a massive improvement over the original. The sprites look fantastic, the chase sequences were improved (the original game's chases were way too unforgiving), the characters were heavily fleshed out more, especially Emma and Marina, new fun puzzles, and the addition of more endings was a great touch.

I was expecting Emma's scenario to just to be about the same as Harriet's with just some changes in dialogue, but it was it's own game with much different puzzles and a much different story. Seeing her breakdown slowly was a neat difference from Harriet and I wish there was this much depth to Harriet in her scenario as I can only speculate so much about her issues with what I'm given. It was great to see the other characters from the perspective of both Harriet and Emma to help make the world feel alive, although I wish I could see what Simon and Mason were like back then too.

Overall I'd say everyone who worked on this did a great job in turning what I saw as a generic horror into something that stands out. Even if I don't find it scary (hard to do with rpgmaker), the characters and puzzles easily make up for that. Hope to see more from this team.

A strategy I use is face behind me to where the prowler could attack me before I start pouring the mayo into a hive. When I hear his scream, I'm already turned around when I stop pouring mayo and just hit the flash button to stop him.

The Krusty Krab must be completed on at least the 2nd difficulty (green slime) to advance the game. Make sure you have that done.

This patch introduced a new bug in Tentacle Acres where burrowers sometimes spawn in areas with guards and near the golden spatula. I was just killed by one near a guard and when I reloaded from checkpoint he was not in the area. I'm so thankful for the extra bushes to hide from the guards but the burrowers are ruining my deathless runs and this is the last level I need. Still loving the game!
