Neat! I hadn't been aware there was a ESP8266-based console!

Yes, of course! Submissions can be in any form so long as they follow the rules.

If you are using a fantasy console that supports html exporting, then by all means go right ahead!

About section added!

That's a good point, thanks! I'll add in basic information shortly.

This is really nice, good work! Played for a bit because I wanted to make sure to rate as many of the games as possible (as I feel is my responsibility as a host), but I'm going to take a bit of a break and just enjoy this one!

Really nice work!

Sorry about that, fixed!

I'll remove this message from the game once enemies are added.

Enemies are not yet implemented, and the only memento which has an effect right now are the Old Sneakers - the Patient Files don't have any info if that's what you're referring to.

There are 28 bytes of persistent memory. To save a name, use 5 bits per letter. That means 8 characters take 40bits = 5 bytes.

Thanks!

AFAIK, currently, you can only export an executable for the platform TIC is running on - a .exe on Windows, an ELF on Linux, etc. Will there at any point be the ability to export for other platforms?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I have yet to find a way to do so.

Seeing the numerous fantasy consoles available has made me curious: what are people's favorite consoles? Personally, I like TIC-80, as I find it easy to use, I like the built in tools, and I suppose I just enjoy the feel of it.

What are your favorite consoles, and why?

I am really excited and slightly nervous as I have never participated in a game jam before, but I feel like this is something worth doing. I too heard about the jam through the discord, and I  plan on submitting one game. I'm sticking with the TIC-80 as it's the only one I have used (at least, for more than a few minutes). I might not end up submitting anything this time around, but even if I don't, at least I'll have some practice for the next one :)

I do have a question though. To quote the rules:

  • You can submit multiple creations.
  • Everything has to be made during one week. (Choose only one of the two weeks.)
  • You don't have to work on it for one week straight, but the total time spent on making it shouldn't take more than  days.

(Also, I'm assuming that's supposed to say "more than seven days?")

If someone submits multiple entries, they can spend up to seven days per entry , right?

Edit: forgot to mention this, but mostly I'm excited to see other people's creations. I haven't seen that many games for these consoles, and I am curious to see how far people can push the limits on the consoles.

As @pistacchio said on the Discord channel:

I mean, what do you want? Do you want to make a game or do you want to impress those other people that program for that FC?

Because if you're interested in the latter (say, 200, 1000 people?) sure having limitations make other fellow programmer say "Look at what he managed to do with all the limitation on the console!"

I'm looking forward to being able to say "Wow! Look at what he managed to do with all the limitation on the console!"

I agree with @SleepingSafari My only complains are that it is too short, and that this page is blank - a little bit of info would have been nice!
