Updated to be more predictable.

Yes, that is the intended behaviour. The ball chooses a random velocity, with respect to the side it's on,  after every bounce with any of the paddles. 

In the original game you can see that there is a mix of random velocity after each paddle contact and an increase of the maximum ball velocity after every contact.

In my game, only the former is done. But I do admit that the range is a bit radical and I could do something to make it only change slightly with respect to the min and max allowed velocity, instead of being completely random within a range.

I don't think I can rate this game for the jam because I'm not a part of it, but overall, the idea is on point and the fact that you added an extra mechanic to go with the mirroring is excellent considering this is your first submission ever!

Yes, the theme is a mismatch on a grand level. I was planning on making the game much bigger but I had only roughly 5 hours to work on it and was too tired to implement everything (sleep routine was broken oof).

And yes, congrats! You are the first one to notice it. After adding post processing and the music I felt anxiety for some reason, so I added the blurry face and made the music turn off when it shows up. :)

Thank you! I feel the same. I didn't hit the theme at all, but that was because I started off the project with too many ideas without realizing I didn't have the time to implement them and so in the end I had to discard 90% of the project :(

Loved the music, loved the high score system and loved the every character but the Bee Guy.

I loved the game, very simple yet interesting characters in such a short time. I found triangle very interesting.

The level that says "If you need a break, press ESC to quit" is a bit tough due to the comically large colliders, but I love the style and I would say that the theme is on point! Well done! A solid 4 star.

I love the simple gameplay, though, I just want to let you know it doesn't satisfy the game jam rules :(

What I mean is the "float" moving. Moving between pixels basically.

You could try fixing that by introducing a fixed 84*48 grid! Good luck!

I love this game! Tho I wish it was a bit harder as time passed. Like the crane could start moving faster for every 10 coins the player holds, which in return would challenge the coin hoarders to spend the money and overall introduce more risk to the gameplay. :)
 What was the game engine used? Cuz I'm trying to make my own emulator using c++ and sfml and it's draining me mentally '-'

Maybe try running the main functions only in FixedUpdate()?

The game is okay and fun to play, but it's annoying that the enemies still deal damage even after they are dead.  They easily get stuck which is quite exploitable, but other than that, it's a great game made in a jam!

okay so i played the game, it's very short as expected, the idea behind it is very simple, but a little hard to understand. 
i mean it has that generic thing like the vomiting up flowers at the end, but i liked it alot.
the style is awesome. 
the sounds can be worked on, and maybe some slow, silent and calming music playing in the main menu.
style: 9/10
movement: 4/10 (it gets hard to get used to it scene after scene, but since there isn't any running away sequences or chasing it's fine)
music: 5/10
overall: 6/10

The game will get even harder as the updates go on, and the graphics are already ready for a change (I just need to update it).
But at the same time, I will add some features to the game to make it easier.

Alot of people said this and I am working on it. 

I should be live after 3 days or so since I am doing the miziz jam now.

I absolutly love this game. I am considering to support you if you have donation set up. I know it's nothing special, but recreation of old school games on modern pc's is always so cool for me and I have huge respect for anyone who does that. The game description is amazing and the story is very well wrapped up (yes that was intentional). I love the minimalism and how easy actually it is to manouver the maze. If only there was some sort of a small mini map it would be perfect. 
Other than that I only disliked the sounds, the OW! and walking sounds are crisp as hell, but the fighting sounds are too high pitched. If you want to I would love if you DM'ed me on discord, cuz I would just love to chat with you, you seem like a great guy/girl! Cheers.

I love the music, the level design so genius, I can't believe this was made on  a jam. Every level has it's spice and it makes the levels very very hard to beat, but it's easy to figure it out after some playing making the player hooked. Very well done, tho I don't get the theme interpetation.

this could be a cool mobile game as well.

The game is epic! I love it. Great idea, I love that the borders destroy you, it's very balanced.
