yeah all blender, everything rendered out as png sprites and then drawn with a typical sprite renderer

i’m just one of the devs and the others will have their own answers but i can say a few of the games that inspired me most when making london jerry, none of which are entirely like london jerry:
- death stranding
- FTL: faster than light
- pathologic 2
- space warlord organ trading simulator
- king of dragon pass
- cart life
- persona 3
- tokimeki memorial
- diaries of a spaceport janitor
- GNOSIA
yeah i gotta make it harder, it’s definitely too easy now. i need to reduce the drop rate of health packs probably and make some other tweaks. maybe i need to increase the complexity of the gameplay by adding new enemy types or something… much to think about. i’ve been in something of a technical improvement mode for the past few weeks but i’m planning to get back to content soon.
noted! i have no idea why the door wouldn’t appear that’s very strange.
i have an idea as to why the orb was spawning on the other side of the wall, it’s related to a bug i experienced where you actually spawned on that level totally surrounded by walls. there’s some uncommon scenarios i didn’t account for in the generator. should be an easy fix.
Report your bugs in this thread.
Known issues:
- physics bug where falling near the edge of a tile can launch you a million feet in the air
- some objects don’t have collision yet
- gamepads behave strangely
- unlit objects sometimes blend strangely with lit ones so the lit objects are visible through the unlit ones
if your bug is a crash, it’s a huge help if you post logs. when the game crashes it should pop up a window with the error message in it. you can also find a full game log in C:\Users\<YOUR_USERNAME>\AppData\Local\DREAM SLAYER
, and posting that would also be a huge help. if the log is large, you can post it somewhere like github gist.
I am genuinely curious what you thought you would accomplish by posting this thread?
It clearly states in the description that the demo version is wildly different from the finished product, and providing feedback on the demo is completely useless seeing as it does not exist on my computer anymore.
I am not interested in feedback on a version of the game that hasn't existed in five months. The only reason those files are still downloadable is because this page is linked to by the 7DRL 2017 submissions page, and I want people to still be able to play the 7DRL version if they come here from that.
Report any bugs you find in this thread. Provide screenshots if applicable and prefably logs, which you can find in the nullpointer_Data folder. The most recent will be called "output_log.txt", previous ones will be timestamped. Also provide a short description of what you were doing before the bug happened.
