Ok, I just updated the MV demo project, and it should work properly now. Thanks again!

I just downloaded it and tried to open it up in MV, and it worked fine. One thing to take note of is that I do have 2 project files in the root directory (one for MV and one for MZ), Tested both and both seem to work for me. What's the behavior you see? Does it open up in the editor, but nothing happens when you press play? Or some other behavior?
PSYCHRONIC_RaveLighting.js is a free, public domain (CC0) lighting system plugin for RPG Maker MZ designed to empower creators with an unprecedented level of flexibility and immersion in lighting. Whether you’re crafting a tense dungeon, a cozy inn, or a celestial stage at dusk, or a virtual rave in 2d form, this plugin provides a dynamic and visually stunning atmosphere through its rich palette of customizable lights.
What sets PSYCHRONIC_RaveLighting.js apart?
- Versatile Light Types: From gentle flickering candles to swirling beams of color and intense, pulsating neon glows—each event can host an array of unique light effects.
- Custom Multi-Lights: Define “custom light types” that blend multiple base lights into a single effect, bringing extraordinary control and complexity to your lighting design. Your events can now glow, flicker, beam, and phase simultaneously in one combined fixture.
- Additive & Realistic Illumination: Enjoy lighting that integrates smoothly into your game’s scene. Using a specialized “destination-out” tint layering, lights gracefully blend and carve out vivid halos against your map’s darkness. The result is natural, warm illumination that elevates atmosphere beyond the usual fare.
- Targeted & Tracking Lights: Flashlights and beams can track the player or specified events in real-time, responding dynamically to character movement and direction—perfect for suspenseful chases or spotlight moments on stage.
- Endlessly Configurable Parameters: Fine-tune light radius, hue, animation speed, offsets, and more. Balance artistic flair with performance considerations by adjusting the darkness gamma or increasing the light buffer range, ensuring your scenes run smoothly on various platforms.
Open Source & Public Domain: PSYCHRONIC_RaveLighting.js is released under CC0, meaning you can use, modify, and distribute it without any legal strings attached. While we appreciate credit if you’re inclined, it’s not required. This is a community-driven project aimed at fostering creativity and innovation.
A Work in Progress & Community Involvement: We acknowledge that there may still be occasional bugs or features ready for improvement. We welcome your feedback, suggestions, ideas and code contributions. Let’s collaborate to refine and extend this lighting system together, evolving it into a staple tool for the RPG Maker community.
Developed with AI Assistance: This plugin’s code was partially developed with the help of artificial intelligence—specifically, ChatGPT-01. We hope that this hybrid of human design direction mixed with AI-guided innovation will help brighten your worlds and spark new ideas in your game development journey.

Legacy is the larger game that will act as the capstone project in the Quadrillogy.
The next game in the pipeline is Star Shift Freelancers, then we'll work on Legacy after that. All of the new techniques, plugins, etc. that we're developing in the prologue games can be brought into the larger project.
Long story short, there's going to be a lot more updates on this after we release Freelancers.

It can be fixed, I know chess but a few rules I didn't know about while developing it. I spent 1 week on this project to test the capabilities of AI coding. I didn't want it to take up a ton of time. I will fix all the issues with it at some point in the not so distant future, adding castling as well.
Thanks for letting us know, it's something we probably just didn't test for. We'll get back to it eventually and fix it. This project was a 1 week binge on using AI to see what it could do at the time that went beyond the normal scope of previous plugins. I'm not an AI bro by any means, but I'm specifically using the tool to create things that didn't exist in the specific context I used it. The Chess plugin was never meant to be a hardcore project or anything but I'm glad it's getting out there more. I will take this all into account and fix the issues with it when I can.
This plugin enables video parallax backgrounds for RPG Maker MV and MZ maps, either as a plugin command or within the map notes section.

Can be used for commercial and non-commercial purposes without having to give credit. Although please let us know what you ended up using our plugin for, we're curious what you all do with it!
Yeah with the skill tree , it's not as crazy as it looks. I might mod it at some point to only show the available skills you can learn "right now" and not the skills further down the progression.
It is set up so that you can learn pretty much anything you want for any of the characters (also any of the characters can equip the same items too, so you can build them how you like, although classes have their own unique trees and different base stats as well). There's a lot of ways to be successful with this in-game, the only way the player will get into trouble is if they have all 7 of their characters learn the exact same skills as each other. (As certain skills are better or worse depending on the enemies you're fighting).
But maybe a little bit more hand holding for the player on that part so they don't get overwhelmed would be a good thing to do for future titles. There's more Star Shift coming!
Yeah it's weird though because whenever I've fought that part and had some of the right mix of skills and equipment it was super easy. But it's one part that some people get massively obliterated in with the game. With 7 battlers and yeah the RNG sometimes, sometimes some unpredictable things happen. Still working on the overall balance for the larger game.
Thanks for the feedback, it's appreciated. All will be used to refine/improve the franchise. As a solo developer, not always able to test every scenario, but seeing how each person plays it a bit differently helps us to refine it to be better/more balanced.
As far as how we wanted combat to work. We wanted a "quick to kill/Quick to die" system. Not trying to have like 30 minute long battles or whatever. There's a little bit of RNG jank though as a result sometimes. It's a continuous process of evolution.
This Plugin is free for you to use for whatever you want, and edit in any way you want, without giving us any credit at all. We developed this plugin within 1 week to test the abilities of generative AI code generation and we're proud of the results although it's not perfect.
We don't claim any ownership over this, if you want to edit it and use it for whatever you want, that's great. If you do happen to mention it came from this though in the evolution of what you do, that's welcome as well.
Thank you for the feedback. We'll get it fixed. I know Chess but I'm not an expert on every aspect of the game so that's my bad. Also there's no castle and King isn't required to move when in check either, but I got it like 90% right, when I get back to it I'll fix these little things. Thanks again!
I'm sorry that I hurt your feelings when I gave honest feedback about your game needing a lot of work.
The game was full of jank:

I got nothing against you and hope that someday you can make a good game and work on your mentality becoming a little less fragile when other people give you feedback about your game.
I've really been enjoying the game, and I'm about 4 hours in (and I normally don't like any of the super-hero stuff at all, but somehow you've pulled off something different). I think I will pick it as the next pick for the RTP (Rarely Typical Players) podcast when it's my turn in about three weeks.
Here is the channel, I'll remind you before we do the stream as well if you'd like to attend. Every Wednesday at 11AM (Pacific Time, UTC -8):

Thanks, I'll check that out! Also just throwing it out there, but Psychronic Games is also a Publisher (specializing in sci-fi games). If you want your game on Steam (and don't want to go through the trouble of setting it all up yourself), we would be willing to pay the Steam fee, and get the page up and running so your game is available on Steam too. Your game is excellent and definitely it should get out there to more places and I think more people would find your game as a result.
Since your game is free, we would put it up as a free game and would require absolutely nothing as far as fee or anything to do so.
What's in it for us? Well, with a number of projects under our belt, including games we've made ourselves, we want to be known for getting underrated hidden gems out to the world. Also in the future we're open to other forms of collaboration as well.
If not interested, no worries at all, just throwing it out there. Thanks again for making this game, it was a lot of fun!
Feel free to keep this question and post up, I'm happy to answer.
The "Blind Review thing" is a situation in which I'm trying to do reviews on my channel, but pretty raw. If I go into a game totally blind without looking at any of it at all, it might not be ready yet as a game or whatever, and I will try to weed that out.
As for your game, I saw all the comments on it, and I also saw there wasn't a lot of videos for it, and I played for 10 minutes, and already knew it was going to be good. So I want to do a review to get your game more noticed. I am a game developer as well, but I want to review hidden gems. I think your game fits the definition of hidden gem, but I will play your game on Thursday and find out.
Please like and subscribe to our channel as well so you can see our game too. But from seeing the basics of your game, I'm seeing the very fundamentals of RPG's in your game that need to be noticed by other makers of RPG's.
