As you wish! Sorry I didn't think about this until now.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! You're correct about the Psychomanteum reference. In my brain it's kind of a "deadly Halloween game" trilogy and if I ever write another Ectocomp game it will probably figure in somehow.
Regarding Reika, be aware this was written very fast sort of as a Speed-IF so the plot isn't likely completely logical...

I apologize, for some reason this game eats save slots. I know that's bad but I have tried to fix it and for some reason it seems to happen in some other games created with AXMA 6 as well. Unfortunately the game creation software isn't really supported anymore. It uses your browser cache to save, so if you can selectively clear cookies (if you dig in you only need to clear for this game/url/website if you don't want to clear all of your cookies) it will clear the save slots and you can use them again. Alternately save again on a new slot and make sure you don't try to restore it on the game over page which seems to be what corrupts each slot selectively. Another option - re-play in a different browser which will access a clean cache for it.
Since the software isn't supported and updated anymore for about four years now it's possible there have been browser updates that don't work well with AXMA and may be exacerbating the issue.
NOTE: I've noticed that attempting to restore from a save slot on the final "game over" screen seems to corrupt that save slot. If you're at the end title screen with credits, please restart the game before restoring so you don't lose a save.
Oh hi! Glad you liked. I wrote this for a comp under a deadline, but with more time and leeway of course I'd totally have included a dude sex route. And then felt obligated to do a girl-girl version... Yes. I should someday totally write my "planet of only dudes" space opera but I dunno if there's an audience for it. ;)
If you haven't already checked them out, two of my longer games include content that may appeal:
All of these were made with AXMA Story Maker 6 which no longer works on my Mac. There is a JS version which I have no idea how works and the documentation is in Russian. And so I'm attempting to get friendly with Twine and some other options.
If you're interested in creating interactive fiction, we have a forum:
Hey! Thanks for playing! So the answer... If you play the ending where you leave the building and return to the party, you'll find out...

Spooky Halloween Twist! This was written for EctoComp which is short horror game jam, so there is no extended happy ending.
I'm searching for an answer to this possibly as well.
I don't *know* if this would work, but would it be possible to set up two pages: one public with information, possibly a demo, and a donation button, then a private page in "restricted" mode that the creator provides download keys to access when people donate the specified amount, which has the browser-play game?
I know they are called "download" keys, but according to the reference material it says a download key gives "access to a page," unless I'm misunderstanding.
----
Using Restricted
Restricted allows only the people you've approved to access your page. Access will let them download files, participate in the community, and use anything else you've enabled for your page. You can give people access by sending them a Download Key that they can attach to their account. If you revoke the key then they'll lose access to the page.
The following option is also available for Restricted:
- Also allow a password to view page — You can provide a password that must be entered by anyone who wants to visit the page. People who already have access for another reason do not need to enter a password. You can also include the password directly in the URL so it’s not required to type it in.
Restricted projects will not show up on itch.io’s browse pages, search results, or profile pages. They will also not be indexed by external search engines.
----
Downside to this is creator has to manually fiddle with granting access keys.
I am sure there are reasons why online browser-play isn't allowed, but surely there would be a way - such as allowing the author to specify the "Run Game" button for browser play doesn't appear unless the accessing account has donated/paid a specific amount...
Yeah, I needed two females and two males rendered. My straight artist friend had probably 30 variations of female nipples to offer, then I'm like, "can we put chest hair on one of the guys?" and he goes "uhhhh?" The next day he came up with a nicer one - I think he bought a new chest hair mesh to help me because what he had at first looked like someone drew it on with a sharpie!
The art is the reason I haven't gone hard into VN. I also investigated DAZ3D and what you said about the expense and time to locate individual resources - mesh, skins, etc - to make them look high-quality and not all like the same person is completely true. I finally hired someone to do a few renders for one of my games, so I understand what a feat this is you are pulling off.
Hey, just wanted to give you props. I'm an IF writer as well, and I usually bounce right off of visual novels for various reasons, but this has really good writing and character development, manages to be horny but not stupid - huge plus, and the renders are pretty amazing to the point I was like I don't know if I would have time to pursue everyone who is interesting! I look forward to seeing more in the future!
That track is "What is Love" by Kevin MacLeod. It's an instrumental track only, and I made up lyrics to it for the game: https://incompetech.filmmusic.io/song/5015-what-is-love
This was on the Safari browser on MacOS on a desktop computer. When I switched to Firefox on Mac the problem stopped...so you might just want to note that Safari may not be supported.
Once into the game with the lower menu (I think it had options like "Me - Them - Facts" ?) attempting to click on one of the lower menu options made the words seem to 'race off the side' like it was an animation that played wrong and the words disappear. This caused nothing onscreen to be clickable further until the browser page was refreshed. The game would load again, links in the story were clickable but if the menu is clicked the glitch repeats.

Evil, sealed away for Aeons, has been Released.
The Cursèd Pickle of Shireton is a Interactive Fiction sendup of the MMORPG genre - from text-based MUDs through Ultima Online, to World of Warcraft. Create a character, take on quests, gather loot, save the universe! (Not necessarily in that order...)
I'm so glad you enjoyed it and got the full ending! I'm also so happy people have discovered the karaoke section since it's buried deep in the menus. While I was creating RSPM, there was a period of about six weeks where I couldn't drive the car without being all "...cuz it doooooesn't seem reeeeeeeeal..." :)
I often have people test my unpublished games in DRAFT mode by sharing the "secret" URL that the game page will generate in draft mode.
I've never thought about this, but wanted to make sure: visiting an itch page with a secret URL only allows the user to play the game and not edit the page nor the theme nor change anything, correct? I assume they'd have to be logged in as me to make changes. The wording that's confusing is "Only those who can edit the project can view the page" but I've shared that URL with people for testing and they can indeed view the page. Is the secret URL also giving them access to edit the project and I'm not aware of this?
Should I be using "restricted" access and a password for this type of thing instead?
You can think of every room or location in and around Cragne Manor as its own self-contained mini-game or mini-adventure. Rooms either have everything you need to solve it provided in the location, or require (usually) one item that can be found elsewhere, such as a key to unlock a door, or some kind of lore hint that will help such as a code or instructions from a book or text written on another item.
(Don't get confused if you get into a situation where you can't, say, cut an object with a seemingly legitimate other sharp object - most puzzles require you to use a specific thing and you need to find it. Think of it as a key even though in real-life you could logically cut the same string with the rusty scissors or the steak knife... You have to use the correct object.)
Right at the beginning of the game, you can access an item that will help a lot.
Go south from the train platform, and pick up the coffee cup. Go south again and find a book in the trash can and read it. It will teach you how to do "coffee creamer divination". From then on, examining the coffee cup will let you know if you have everything you need to solve the current room you're in, if you need to search elsewhere outside the room for an item to solve the room, or if you've completed the room and can check it off the list of things to do!
Realize many of the rooms also have optional content outside the main puzzle tracks not required to finish the game , but which is well-worth exploring.
Itch support confirmed there were problems with web games in the previous app. Update to 25.0.0 (https://itch.io/app ) and all seems well!
Let me know if you have any other issues, and thank you for alerting me. I actually really like the app now!
I just updated the updated itch desktop app on my Windows 10 machine, and both Breeding Princesses and another game in the same system installed and loaded and ran fine with the music from the ZIP files it downloaded from the main page.
Have you updated the desktop app? If it still gives you problem, delete the game file and re-download (choose the ZIP version if you have a choice) and install it. If that still doesn't work, perhaps you might need to rip and reinstall the itch desktop client?
