Can't wait to finish the Drowning Machine someday once I have the craft and mental fortitude to remake it from scratch the way I originally pictured it :')

all! Just realized I never changed my twitter URL, I'm still around!! I've spent the last 2.5-3 years designing and scripting the arsenal for Remnant II so I've been very busy :0

Hi all! Just realized I never changed my twitter URL, I'm still around!! I've spent the last 2.5-3 years designing and scripting the arsenal for Remnant II so I've been very busy :0

(1 edit)

I can’t help but spend a good amount of my development time just kind of looking at the parts of the set that I’m proud of and coming up with  the words from there based on how the place I just built makes me feel. big part of why I’m struggling with Reverie right now. I’m gonna strip a bunch of it back and release it soon tho, just need to figure out a few things

thank you so much for playing!! Here’s a link to the demo for the full release if you’d like! https://rabbitrungames.itch.io/thedrowningmachine

Thank you so much for playing! If you’d like to see more, here’s a link to the demo for the full release! https://rabbitrungames.itch.io/thedrowningmachine

Hey there! Thank you for playing, it's definitely a game I'd recommend playing in small increments since it can get a bit intense if you play it all in one sitting. I'm glad the game spoke to you emotionally though, that means the world!

Hey there! Sorry for the confusion, only movements 3, 4 and 6 are currently playable. Movement 1 is a work in progress and should be released soon!

thank you so much for the support! There’s more coming soon :)

hey there! I’d be happy to look into this for you, do you happen to remember what you were doing when the game crashed?

Hey thanks for playing! Glad to hear you enjoyed :)

I actually remember you mentioning that, not sure if that was in regards to this or The Diving Bell though. Hm.

hey there! Thank you so much for playing, I am so glad to hear that you and your friend are still here. Be sure to keep up with my Twitter for regular development updates!

hey thank you for playing! Yeah a lot of folks said it threw them for a loop compared to the tone of most of the other games, but I’m glad it was included!

thank you so much, that means the world to me. I’ve actually had a lot of folks say that, honestly just taking the time out to leave a comment says it all :) I hope he’s proud wherever he is

hey there! Thank you so much for playing I’m glad the game meant something to you, and I appreciate the compliments!

To clarify, the game is being released episodically, I’m currently around a quarter of the way through Movement I: Reverie. There’s going to be two movements released after that as well, once they’re good and ready ;)

I’ll be pushing regular updates to the game so I would definitely recommend following my Twitter to keep up with development!

I’m so glad to hear you appreciated it, it absolutely fuels me to know that this game means something to so many kind folks :)

it's good

Hey there! Glad to see you played it. You can pick up the phone with Tab, not sure if that's one of the  buttons you pressed, otherwise I'll look into it! I think I'm going to change around some of the input defaults and add custom bindings for folks with keyboard trouble in a near future update!

Thank you so much! Yes, I did let the gameplay take a back seat, but I think that the new movement is going to knock your socks off in that regard :)

thank you for playing! I’ll check out your video in a little while :)

thank you for the kind words, I’ll certainly keep it up! Movement I is coming shortly :)

Have you tried unplugging it and replugging it? A lot of controllers get drift when the connection isn't 100% perfect

Thank you for your kind words, I am truly sorry for your loss.

Stories like yours are what inspired me to take the direction that I've taken with the game, and reassurance that I'm doing something right. It's responses and feelings like yours that keep the project going. Thank you so much.

hi! To my knowledge you shouldn’t overwrite your progress by updating, but I would recommend using the itch client to download updates since it’ll be able to update your game files directly without destroying the save

thank you so much! I hope the experience is exactly what you’re looking for :)

hey there! I’m Aidan, I made the drowning machine. Not sure if it qualifies as a jump scare, but there is a sudden loud noise regarding a train around midway through Movement IV, but to my knowledge that is the only thing in that ballpark :)

Thank you, the support so far has been absolutely incredible!

Oh my gosh, thank you so much! That means the world to me, I'm glad it meant something to you. I'll be checking this video out shortly!

Movement III: Freefall is now available for download

Howdy folks! Aidan here.

I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you to those who play The Drowning Machine. The game is very personal to me, and the ability to use such an incredible platform to get Charlie's message out there is an opportunity I could never have dreamed of.

I want to share the stories of all you lovely folks who have been through something similar. If you care to have your story heard, or even included in the full release of the game, I invite you to follow this link. The Drowning Machine is a vector to tell the stories of all who have experienced loss, and I would love to have the chance to share yours as well.

Thank you for playing, I'm glad you're still around :)

video games?

Movement IV: Wanderlust is now available for download

Thank you. It was hard to get through the speech a second time, but it was worth it. Glad it meant something to you!

Thank you for playing. I'm really excited at the idea of this being able to do some good in the world.

Thank you so much. I just want to do his vision justice, so I appreciate that :)

Thank you. There will be more excerpts released shortly, so stay tuned

I'm glad the game meant something to you both. While ordinarily I try to keep things like this private, I know for certain that Charlie knew that this story would help someone out there. Honestly if this game is able to help even one person understand what it would be like to lose them, and show them that it's worth it to keep going, it'll be worth it for both of us. I appreciate any help spreading his message. I appreciated your respect of the source material in the video.

Everyone experiences trauma differently, everyone experiences grief differently.

The Drowning Machine is a chance at closure for both me and him, and I'm just glad that the message has gotten out.

Thank you both for playing

Thank you, I just want to do my best to honor him.

Thank you, I really appreciate that. There will be more parts coming soon to tell the whole story.

Thanks Johnny!
