That's a source for archives, sure, but can you provide a source for the legality of it?

Ok, let's both calm down here and have a mature conversation.
There's a few things I'm genuinely curious about, and please respond in a polite manner.
1.) Is there a source that outdated versions are legal to archive specifically on a platform you can download them for free?
2.) I did a bit of research on copyright law, and while it's perfectly legal to archive the game, downloading an archived game without permission from the copyright holder is illegal. Is this true?
I'm perfectly fine if you don't want to continue this anymore, by the way.
I do realize that.
Are you in kahoots with mystman? You don't know that he doesn't care. Maybe he doesn't know, maybe he's trying right now.
The fat that the listing for the pirated game are still up does not mean that mystman doesn't care about them.
If you made a paid game, someone pirated it, you didn't know, and then people went around saying it was totally fine and that you didn't care that people pirated it because the listing were still up...I think you can see the problem.
I argue that making this listing cost money is WORSE than making it free, as that would mean money would be going to a pirate. Buy the game from mystman and install oldsport's mod menu yourself. And yes, I believe this lister stole the mod menu from oldsport - the screenshots literally say "oldsport's mod menu".
And just in case you didn't know - Baldi's Basics Plus is NOT owned by peyton36. It is owned by mystman12, better known as the company Basically, Games! who did not give the lister permission to reproduce and redistribute the game for free.
I was trying to be positive. I was trying to encourage you to pursue whatever you wanted to. I told you you didn't have to do anything you didn't want to. I told you you had every right to stop working on the mod menu. I emphasized that I wasn't trying to insult you or your desicion.
And yet, you refuse to read a paragraph that a second grader could read. You took one look at my message and instead of noticing that I cared about you, all you did was say that my message was wrong.
I'm done here. I don't care anymore.
All I wanted was to help. If you reject that, I just have to come to terms with that.
I suppose it's my fault for being born with both the urge to try and help people and anger management issues.
Goodbye.
Well, you're an overworked person who isn't getting the appreciation for making such a thing as a BB+ mod menu to begin with.
You undertook a project that hadn't been done for this specific game yet. Sure, you did steal code, and I do not condone that, but in the end you worked through it, acknowledged your fault, and developed something really good.
I don't think you should abandon this project. Yes, some of that is coming from my own selfish want of a mod menu, but part of it is because it's just so sad watching a project that started with so much passion and vigor die out like this. It really seems like you're suffering from severe burnout, to the point where you eventually had to force yourself to work on it.
Don't get me wrong - I'm not trying to push you. If you decide to end the project here, I won't judge you. You have every right to do so.
But if you do eventually decide to come back, my one piece of advice is not to let other people pressure you into working on it. Don't feel like you have to meet deadlines. Don't set deadlines. If a new update comes out, who cares? Work on what you want, when you want to. Keep it fun for yourself.
I'm sorry if this comment insults you, or it feels like I'm desperately clinging on to the mod menu, trying to get more updates and features.
Good luck.
