Anyone know how to access the in-game codex? I receive messages whenever it apparently gets updated, but can't figure out how to find it.

Kudos for the stunning production values of this first installment. It was like watching an indy film set in a kind of brooding minor key, starting from the falling-leaf animation in the main-menu screen.
You've successfully kept it "genuine, understated, and believable," as you commented to that other player. You navigate the tone(s) with purposeful nuance. And you demonstrate a skillful grasp of whatever is the AVN equivalent of cinematography or camerawork, like that shot at the bus stop of the fly in the spider's web with the background out of focus.
Your handling of interpersonal communication has particularly been pretty masterful. Not only does the dialogue ring true, but you seem to understand that around 70% of human communication is nonverbal. This includes stuff like amusing facial expressions, significant pauses in conversations, and an array of postures and gestures.
As you move forward, OtterFly, please take care of yourself. Stay hydrated, eat good food, and get plenty of rest. I'll be keenly bummed if you run out of gumption before this project reaches completion!
I finished Books 1, 2, and 3 on Steam. I decided it would be nice to download the game outside of Steam, too, so I could replay it straight off the hard drive. So I bought the bundle (with Morningstar) here on itch.io. But every time I download and extract Book 1 or Book 2, it tells me the file is broken and belongs in the trash. Oddly, I don't have this problem with Book 3 or Morningstar. Those files open just fine. I also became a Normie on Patreon, downloading Books 1–3 and Morningstar on a variety of platforms over there. The same deal happened — Books 1 & 2 are allegedly broken, but Book 3 and Morningstar play just fine. Everything still plays fine on Steam. It's weird. Got any suggestions beyond "keep using Steam"?
Ch. 2 game file (Mac) opens in the dock but game doesn't start (no main menu window, etc.). On a couple of occazsions, just in case I have a slow computer, I've waited up to four hours for it to kick in, unsuccessfully. I've re-downloaded the zip file and re-extracted the game, in case the original download or extraction process was wonky. That didn't work either. (The revamped Ch. 1 file works fine, btw.)
