Every time you make a game it gives me emotions that only shrimp can see

This was incredible; I was hooked beginning to end and your characters feel so real the whole time and the format serves the story perfectly and it's all just SO impressive well done!!

Thank you so much!! I'm so glad you enjoyed it! It makes me incredibly happy to know that you had favorite little details, and had enough fun to leave such a lovely comment. Today especially has been real rough in the game dev world, so it means extra much right now to get a reminder that my li'l games can bring people some joy. Thank you for playing!

This is such an incredible achievement. You created a randomized space that nevertheless feels cohesive and real. I loved stepping into the museum and feeling unmoored from the laws of space. Plus, you put two compelling storylines into a game built on procedural content! I loved having to navigate by art types, since traditional navigation just wouldn't work in a space like this. Also the short mini-puzzle with the guards and the key was just so cool. I played the whole thing whispering "how'd you do that??" to myself because it all just works so well! Really, really amazing work!

This is so, so lovely! It all feels so vast, and the environments are the perfect blend of familiar and strange. The art is also just so good! that cityscape from the top of the tower was breathtaking. Most of all, though, I loved the characters, and how earnest and real they felt. Really great work.

This is such an incredibly kind and thoughtful comment ;__; You managed to highlight some of the elements I was feeling most insecure about and hearing that you specifically liked them has absolutely made my day! It's especially gratifying to know that the puzzle element really worked for you; I was feeling like I didn't have time to put in the polish that I wanted (I might do an update) and knowing that you were really invested makes it feel worth it. Thank you so much for playing; I'm sincerely so glad you enjoyed it and really appreciate the thought you put into this response!

Thank you so much! I had a great time figuring out the different outcomes, and I have truly wanted to write romance options for a game for ages now, so I saw an opportunity and took it. I'm so glad you played and enjoyed!

Perhaps you will see something spooky 👀 Thanks so much for playing!

Thank you so much!!! I had the absolute best time writing this so I'm so glad it hits (the beston jeepers lyrics were an eleventh hour addition so I'm thrilled that reactions to his kettle was an incentive for a replay!) I fully intend to revisit this world (it is actually the same world that I made for my nanowrimo project last year about breaking curses and having student loans; we chatted about it a little in the DIN iirc and I'm still working on that one!). If for no other reason than that I have to give the people more beston jeepers lore. Thank you so much again for playing and enjoying my favorite game I've ever made!

This is incredibly cool! I love how much the initial choice can impact the story, and how real it makes the town feel. It makes it satisfying to replay and see how things change, and it's all so tightly implemented!

This was a TRUE delight. I had such a good time playing!

Hmmm... I'm not sure! That's not a problem I've encountered regularly -- I did have an issue on mobile where trying to double-tap to complete that dialog might block the text field from appearing. Try just single-tapping on that screen and let it complete on its own, and then your keyboard might come up. Playing on PC is probably easiest, though. I really appreciate your interest!

Oooh, the impact of seeing the shape getting closer in the window was so cool... what a great little story.

This was such a fun little mystery! I loved the denouement; such a classic detective move!

Thank you so much! I'm so glad you liked it! I had such a good time making it so I'm loving seeing people loving it, lol. You are completely correct about the cat btw. Cats have good instincts! But they're not very good communicators.

I'm glad to be creating a fanbase for Beston Jeepers.

That was so sweet! The commentary felt really true to a child's perspective.

The nostalgia hits like a truck. Fantastic work!

You so accurately captured the feeling of having covid in the design of this space. Something about the long, mostly-featureless walk just perfectly evokes that feeling of the days running together and having no real sense of time. I hope things get better.

What a cool world, and what amazing art. The color contrast really sets a powerful tone.

What a lovely, chill experience! I really loved wandering around in here, finding paths and enjoying the glimpses of memories.

Thanks so much! I had a TON of fun writing these characters; I think of the whole museum kind of like a sitcom set. (Protip for a Beston Jeepers fan -- if you put his kettle on display and then talk to some of the people around it, you get some song lyrics)

Dialog choices is FAR and away my favorite Bitsy hack; I cannot recommend it enough! It's very simple to use, and it opens up so much potential.

I've played this twice now, and I've been trying to figure out how to write out my praise in a nice comment, but it's hard to articulate just how impactful this is. It's breathtaking, in a very real sense; playing it made me feel at times like my breath had been yanked out of my lungs. The environment is perfect, the presentation of some of these pieces (thinking especially about the photo with the vanishing figures) and the act of climbing out at the end... it's so, so effective.
I've been processing an event from last month that makes some of the pieces in here hit extra hard. A lot of my time has just been spent trying to parse my own emotions. Seeing some of those emotions reflected here feels like relief. Thank you for writing them.

Ooooh I LOVED this. It has such a clever premise, there's so much to see, and the overworld map gives us such a strong sense of space. Now I have to go back and find that last secret...

This was gorgeous. You struck the perfect balance of deeply personal content and abstract poetic presentation. The ending was perfect.

What a delight. I love the ghost's voice, and the way the route heightens the anticipation of just knowing you're gonna eat more delicious paintings.

I'm sorry that you've had art go missing, but I'm glad you got more art out of the experience!

This could be pure superstition on my part (I'm not a programmer and based on my programming knowledge this seems like a weird interaction issue) but I think it might be a problem with room transition effects. I just made a test game and did some trial and error and I was able to replicate the issue with transition effects, but I wasn't able to replicate it with no transition effects. Something to try, anyway?

(also I started your game and am loving it; I'm gonna go finish now!)

Absolutely enamored of these little guys. Perfect descriptions, would visit the gift shop irl.

This is so lovely; relaxing and satisfying and delightful.

Ohh, this made me so nostalgic... Your environments here are absolutely killer; it evokes the exact vibes of a gameboy as you make your way through pokemon red. Beautifully done!

This is SO good; the art is perfect for this story -- not a single pixel wasted, and it sets the tone just perfectly. Really beautifully done!

This is so sweet; I had a huge smile on my face the whole time I was playing!

This is STUNNING. The sprite work is incredible and the vignettes are beautiful. The headstone just sitting there off to the side is inspired honestly; it feels just right for the tone of melancholy optimism. Gorgeous game.

Theme suggestion: mess

I want to start putting sound in my games, or at least TRY messing with the sound a little. I just haven't felt like I've had time to dive into it before.

this is SO GOOD; the vibes are exactly right, I love that you went with black and white, it's exactly the right amount of foreboding and just a li'l too real -- incredible work

So much of this is honestly life-changing? Like, I've been told before that I don't have to fill every day, but I find myself skipping too many days in the row and then I feel guilty or whatever... but when you said just now "no one said you have to[...]do more than put a sticker on it" I was like "...you can do that?????" You can just put a sticker? like of course it's my journal no one tells me what to do but is that really ALLOWED? I love that. I mean I love stickers but also I sincerely needed someone to just pick me up and shake me and say A JOURNAL ENTRY IS WHATEVER YOU SAY IT IS. Also all your advice on different ways to use a journal is just really well-informed and helped me to sort of contextualize the way I have tried using journals in the past and what I really want to get out of them.

You did not scare me off and it was all such a sincerely good and individualized pitch for journals! Thank you for taking the time to write all this out! (also I peeked at your journal insta and it's so beautiful ;_;) I am gonna give it a try and grow some plants while I do it!

I am sincerely so obsessed with this concept! It works on so many levels as a natural, variable interaction to have with a journal; plus the garden page as a visual representation of the year as you go? Oh man I love it so much. I have tried and failed to be a journaler in the past but I really want to give this a try 🌱

Whoaaaaa this is incredible! the pace and rhythm of progression is so good and the music just enhances it so well; absolutely amazing

Thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed it!

ahaha that's the danger of putting the exact same hallway in nine times; making it also felt infinitely long. Thank you for playing!

This was so fun! I love the little details, and the logic behind the puzzly elements. My favorite part is the boots; I knew right away what they were for—it was such a satisfying bit of design!

This is SO GOOD; I love the art and the atmosphere and, yes, the ending absolutely got me!
