Directional Avatar hack not working with Bitsy 8.7

I discovered this issue way too late into Jam 77 unfortunately so I doubt help will find me in time, but none of the tricks I've tried have worked. If the avatar exits to the next room facing the "flipped" direction, in the next room all flipping ends up opposite how it should be.

I do seem to be using the most updated version of the hack, as it in fact states it requires Bitsy 8.7 to run.

If anyone knows of a solution to this, I would be very happy to hear it so I can use this hack in future games.

This could be pure superstition on my part (I'm not a programmer and based on my programming knowledge this seems like a weird interaction issue) but I think it might be a problem with room transition effects. I just made a test game and did some trial and error and I was able to replicate the issue with transition effects, but I wasn't able to replicate it with no transition effects. Something to try, anyway?

(also I started your game and am loving it; I'm gonna go finish now!)

Oh interesting, removing the transition effects is one thing I didn't try so maybe that's where the issue is. I hope it can be fixed, since having to choose between transition effects and directional avatar isn't much fun.

(Thank you, I'm glad you like it!)
