Be sure to check out The Weird Musical World of Digital Eel, a compilation of soundtrack medleys from our indie games, 2003-2015, now on YouTube. It includes music from BrainpipeWeird Worlds, Data Jammers and Sea of Stars (and more), each available right here on itch.io!
Warning/Guarantee: This game music is not normal.
The Weird Musical World of Digital Eel

The Weird Musical World of Digital Eel
A Digital Eel/Mystery Kitchen Production!
To help wrap up our strange tale of indie game creation after over 20 years of doing it, I thought I'd make a final music collection to celebrate the SOUND of Digital Eel games. So, I went back, way back--to 2003!--and began to assemble separate medleys or "suites" (if you will) of music and music-like material from a number of our games released within about a 15 year period.
There is a LOT of stuff, and I took my time going through it to be able to present the material with respect and fun and a fresh take on everything. This is the result. Feel free to purchase some of it ($1), all of it ($7), orjust stream it and listen ($0). It's all for you guys in any case. Enjoy!
WARNING/GUARANTEE: This game music is GENRE-FREE and NOT NORMAL.
Note: Four games available here on itch are featured: Weird Worlds: Return to Infinite Space, Brainpipe: A Plunge to Unhumanity, Data Jammers: FastForward, and Infinite Space III: Sea of Stars. But be sure to listen to the whole thing. It's pretty nuts.

Thanks for checking out the sale!

The Sea of Stars symphonic soundtrack by Evelyn Sykes.

It is true. Primordius, Dread Lord of the Dark Traverse, has returned even as vicious planet ravagers from the bug star AND insane star killers from another galaxy roam the Purple Void. It is a time of great danger and catastrophic consequence among the Nine Races. But you--and only you--can save the day! No really! We mean it!

The Infinite Space Trilogy Sale
One day left!
Get the trilogy for $1.98!

The Infinite Space games (Strange AdventuresWeird Worlds and Sea of Stars) are humorous science fiction roguelites (with graphics, sound and music) that are played to completion in 20-45 minutes (depending on the game). Each of them generates a different interstellar region to explore every time a new session begins. Stars, planets, black holes, nebula mass, alien patrols, items, lifeforms and other encounters are randomized for each new voyage.

Btw, the sequels don't alter the original roguelite gameplay formula established with Strange Adventures (no way!) but each one ups the ante visually and sonically, and adds new features and specials to expand the game--like new characters, new ships and gadgets, more super-rare quests, and even the symphonic music created by UK composer Evelyn Sykes for Sea of Stars!

Get the trilogy for $1.98!

Strange Adventures was released in 2002 followed by Weird Worlds in 2005 and, with the help of the community, Sea of Stars in 2015.

Note that Strange Adventures in Infinite Space will always be available FREE and DRM-free exclusively on itch!

Hey all!
Just released v1.6.2 of Strange Adventures for Linux, macOS and Windows. Engage!
https://rich.itch.io/strangeadventures

Hey guys!
New version release. v1.6.2 for Linux, macOS and Windows.
Engage! https://rich.itch.io/strangeadventures

The Ubuntu version requires the following packages to be installed:

libsdl2-2.0-0
libsdl2_mixer-2.0-0
libphysfs
libstdc++6

Update: There was a PayPal issue causing problems with some orders. Everything is okay now but sorry for any confusion.

Will get back to you on that. Thanks for the note.

Hey all! We just re-released Strange Adventures in Infinite Space (SAIS)--the very first space roguelike (or roguelite)--that we put out in 2002 (thanks, Cheapass Games!). SAIS hasn't worked on a computer system since the Windows XP days. Now you can dl Chris Collins's working versions for contemporary operating systems (Linux, macOS, and Windows). Yay!

SAIS is presented here exclusively in its original pre-OepnGL, 8-bit, scratchware form, absolutely free and eminently shareable. A mod pack consisting of all of the mods and conversions made by the community is included as well.

Btw, if you like SAIS, you'd certainly enjoy its two sequels, Weird Worlds: Return to Infinite Space, and Infinite Space III: Sea of Stars, both of which can be found here on itch as well. (A little plug if you don't mind.)

Thanks!
The Digital Eel gang

Not sure. Have others tried?
