Hello,

Thank you for your interest in playing the game.

Please send me your e-mail (or your preferred way of receiving files).

The wall-run system is written with C++ as an actor component class contained in:

CPPComp_Player.h

CPPComp_Player.cpp

Search for the function: PC_UpdateWallRunOmniMotion() to see how the algorithm works per tick.

There are a lot of parameters that feed in the system via PC_SetWallRunOmniMotionInfo(), you'll need to calibrate your own set of magic numbers through trial and error - at least that is how I work with the system during development.

I hope this can aid you in your project.

Hello, Levi090

After completing this project for 6 months and looking back, I observe there are some major flaws in this wall-run system:

1. Wall-run movement does not consider acceleration and gravity:

I simply put the movement code in a tick function and call SetActorPosition() every frame, this naive implementation causes the overall control to feel "stiff" and "bland" since the algorithm does not take the player's momentum before entering wall into consideration.

2. The wall-run rotation does not respect delta time:

Another major flaw is the interpolation of player's facing (while wall-running) does not respect the engine's delta time, this oversight will cause potentially wonky movements if the game runs below 60 fps. Ideally, I should take delta time into account when interpolating players' facing.

It is sad that after my last overhaul, the wall-run system still has major flaws.

Apology in advance - I don't think this wall-run system (at its current state) is a good reference material, however, I hope the mistakes I made can help you be more informative when designing your own wall-run system.

《Drifting : Weight of Feathers》 Opening Cinematic - Target Eliminated

Hello, everyone!

Before talking about the cinematic opening of 《Drifting : Weight of Feathers》, I would like to encourage you to download the latest (Ver 2.5 - 2021 May 20) demo build and give it a try!

If you like the gameplay, don't forget to wishlist and stay tuned for more updates of the demo until the release date of the full game this (2021) year!

Following the cinematic opening, the identity of our female protagonist has finally revealed - a wanted criminal of the Milky Way galaxy pursued by Interstellar-Empire. During an encounter with a troop of Interstellar-Empire on planet BlueStar, she accidentally (or was tricked into) activates the planet-destruction-procedure, now she needs to avoid her pursuers AND not get killed by an exploding planet!

The adventure of Faye (your character) begins after she was defeated and fell into a hallway ruin. Be prepared to face more enemies from Interstellar-Empire after they learned of your whereabouts and practice your Exos-Arms to traverse the ocean engulfed planet BlueStar!

Hello QUEENFAITH2020,

Thank you for providing the link, I'll check it out! >.0

Hello QUEENFAITH2020,

Thank you for providing the spec of your system. I'll try to reproduce the issue on my end and see if I could track down the bug.

Have a wonderful day!

Hello QUEENFAITH2020,

Thank you for your kind words!

I've watched your video clip and noticed there might be a potential bug in a low FPS environment, where the collision of the statue does not register properly with the sphere. Would you mind providing your system spec for me (CPU, GPU, RAM, OS), so that I could perhaps test it on another system with a similar spec?

Thank you in advance!

Hello DANIEL RAIN,

Thank you for your continuous support! =)

Additional costume is a feedback I received a lot from play testers. However, since I'm not an artist myself, it will be time consuming for me to add additional costumes; a possible alternative solution is to add additional attachable trinkets to the character (perhaps the trinkets could be unlocked by achieving certain mission in the game?).

The idea of character customization is an aspect I haven't put too much thought about it honestly, nevertheless, I'll make sure to post an update if there are news related to character customization in the future.

Thank you again for your advice and have a relaxing weekend. :D

Hello DANIEL RAIN,

Thank you for coming back!

I'm just glad that I've finished overhauling the wall run system, and from the result of my stress testing, it's well worth the effort!

Have a relaxing and healthy weekend! (●′∀‵)ノ♡

I score 47 in my second try, hope my pilot still wants to be friend with me. Q_Q

Hello Raquold,

The main theme of the music you've composed did suit the project quite well, the fact that you could come up with it in such a short time left me quite impressed.

I would like to know more about how you could improve upon it further, given time and resources.

This is my e-mail address: rit2040@gmail.com

It's probably better if we take the discussion to a private channel, instead of the comment section. Feel free to leave your e-mail or send me a mail so we could discuss it further! :)

Looking forward to your e-mail!

Hello Raquold,

The schedule for this project is to complete the last level around October 2020 - depending on my development speed, it could delay one or two months, however, it's safe to assume the project will reach its alpha version before the end of 2020.

If things go as planned, the project will undergo a series of beta testing and tweaking during the first quarter of 2021 - which I believe at that time, the game will have a definite style and theme - I think it will be an appropriate timing for me to add ambient / theme music into the game. You could contact me then, that is, if you are still interested in joining the project.

I'm sorry I couldn't give you a confirmation for collaboration right now, however, I think we could keep in touch, if you have anything you found may suit the game's atmosphere (even just a 15~30 seconds music clip), I'm willing to give it a try and see how things go.

Thank you again for your interest and I wish you all the best in your career. =)

Hello Raquold,

I'm glad you are interested in the game and genuinely love my work! :3

I visited and listened to some of the video clips in your channels, (namely, Ryan Kenneth Sukkar, SAMSāRA TILL NEVER Official, End Push Off, I hope I didn't get it wrong). Not a musician myself, I feel your work embeds a strong personality through the rhythm of the music, it's quite interesting to hear, however, the genre of the music didn't seem to fit the overall feeling of the game. I was looking for something more inclined to the light-modern-pop music genre. Here are some links to the sample musics I've gathered so far that fit the mood I wanted to achieve:

https://audiojungle.net/item/alone-remix/25619570

https://audiojungle.net/item/progressive-house-female-vocal/20837312?s_rank=15

https://audiojungle.net/item/uplifting-piano/23128857?s_rank=30

Hope these music samples could give you an idea of what I am looking for.

The game currently is still in mid development - far from finished - which means a change of mood or overall style may (or may not) occur in the future. Since there are still some undecided aspects of the game, I think now is probably not a good time to consider a collaboration for music composing. I hope you can understand my concern.

Thank you again for approaching me with a genuine and honest gesture. =)

I wish you a productive weekday and all the best with your career.

P.S. I received a subscription request from my UE4 account, but when I press accept, I get a 403 error. I'll try to figure out this issue later today, sorry for the inconvenience!

Hello lost signal,

Although the graphics is still not finalized, I'm pretty satisfied with the art direction I'm going with.
