Those are not bugs, it is supposed to work like that, the problem is that we wanted the game to be way too big for a jam that's only a week, and it ended up very unfinished :(
Going back to the house should have triggered another cutscene that gives continuation to the story, and after defeating the second and final boss, you finished the game.

Thank you! Yes it is, the entire tile map is generated by a script, and both the platforms and enemies are placed randomly in the level.

Hello, thank you so much, it's so good to hear people are enjoying the game :)

So, the first bug, well.. we had to rush quite a lot to get the game ready for submission that we left out and/or forgot many important aspects, that's just one of them, so no excuses there :P. The second bug is strange because it only happens in game builds but not in the unity editor, and that's why it escaped us, anyway, what's happening is that the game is paused at that moment but the pause menu is not shown, simply press Escape on your keyboard and you can keep playing :)
