fam a controller only has so many buttons you might as well try them all (in every game). I mean it's just fun to learn how stuff works without being told yk?

press the 'back' key enough times (x on keyboard, circle on ps4 controller) when not in map, alt+f4, task manager end task if on windows. Also in case you haven't figured out there is a pause menu from where you can save & quit

you can use sharpkeys to remap or other remapping software

lol its the same 3 controls as the main game with the inclusion of a camera to control via joystick

C for select, just like the Steam game, wasd for camera, but like 20 minutes in I folded and just picked up my controller, I found it way easier even though I've played the main game on keyboard for like 130 hours.
