Quicksilver 0.4.0

The goal of this week’s version is to speed up gameplay and clean up current features. I’d like to get a “stable” level 1 going followed by a few more rough-draft levels. The “story” of the game is getting more and more fleshed out so enemy designs are starting to make sense. Really borrowing pacing ideas from Raiden IV to help speed things up and make things a little more fun.

Wow- that's some top-notch use of 60 hours man. I really enjoyed your game!

This was a really fun, simple game. I loved how you could play multiple "characters" with different abilities that you learn gracefully. This was really cool!

Those were some really sick beats. Never felt pumped playing a maze game before lol

This was pretty fun! It took a bit to understand how the enemies moved when the character did, however that is probably part of the challenge. I actually got a pretty bit kick out of solving puzzles I died 10+ times on haha.

I think my fave part was the sound effects. Made the game feel intense, especially as the square closed in around me! Great job

This is stylish! I'm only going to nit-pick because I'm jealous:

  • those air enemies were quick and tough to hit. I also felt the collision wasn't dead on- but maybe I just suck at it!
  • looks like some trees were spawning a little far on the right side
  • maybe a short amount of time where you could be invulnerable after a hit would help

Again, stylish little game with good controls. Great job!

I agree. The original idea was to have an enemy "follow" you on the rails but I was running out of time. I tried to make some challenge- maybe not having the enemies dissappear entirely would help as one could try and bank on that.
