Fair enough, at the moment seriously considering how to go about taking Furlorns future. Def need to redo and make the tutorial more involved and better since there's soo many new mechanics since it's originl creation. So will pry undergo some massive gameplay and map overhauls, but still working that out. Still i hope this becomes something you enjoy some day, :3
There is a very rare bug where players can get stuck in the character creator, you can load a save slot if you saved before otherwise sadly this requires a full reset. So if you can't progress out of the character creator you will have to do a full reset in the main menu by pressing the following keys: LCtrl + LAlt + LShift + R, sorry you ended up being one of the rare instances where one gets stuck in it, either do the full reset above if you don't have any save slots, or just load from a save slot if you saved manually before.

That's very odd, maybe lower graphics settings? also try pressing and holding LControl + LAlt + LShift + R. This will do a full reset and purge all save data but should fully reset and hopefully work upon relaunching.
Also check that antivirus isn't blocking it, antivirus can be a little finicky for indie dev games especially ones that make calls to the internet or open browser tabs like mine does to allow peeps to visit my sites, :o
The spell creation scroll is something im still working on creating a system for to make custom spells like Elder Scrolls Oblivion, so just collect them for now for later use.
The heavenly pearl was meant to be a counter part to the Hellion Gem and just like it was meant to send the player to a heavenly realm, but meh more or less scrapped that idea. It'll be useful for crafting material later on.
so there are two systems when it comes to saving and loading. The slot system where you save and load save slots from the main menu manually. Then the continuation system, which saves after each scene/locations change or whenever you go to the main menu, this loads on game start up so players can just open the game and click continue to go forward, this one isn't something you can change since its constantly saving and loading in the background and continues where the game stops off when exiting the game.
