It can't out of the box but I found a great script that this would not have been possible to do without!

Thanks for your comment! I fully intend to put the little beasts into as many games I make as I can, so hopefully I'll have cleaner audio next go-around lol

Thanks for the feedback! Unfortunately it's hard to test for every possible thing given that this game has randomly generated dungeons but I think I've handled the incidents of lag in the updated version... obviously couldn't do that for the Jam, though lol. I've wanted to make a game starring witch familiars for a while, so glad to get it out there and that people enjoyed the theme!

Thank you! ♥

I don't know about years but I do have plenty of ideas for improvement and stuff I couldn't fit into it during the jam. And some bug squashing of course! Thank you for the lovely comment! I really wanted it to not feel like a bog standard RPG maker game, so I'm happy to hear I succeeded!

Hey, of all the issues to pop up in a gamejam game, some typos are not bad at all.

What a delightful game! It gets pretty challenging very quick, especially if you're not great with directions like me lol, I was constantly getting lost in my maze of a hotel. It would be nice if there was a way to swap the door you're holding with an existing door rather than having to find an empty slot for the door you're holding and then go back and pick up the other door to move it. The styling is great, I love how the main character looks and moves and seeing what new funky guest has arrived was always a treat.

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it ♥

This was a blast to play, and some of the puzzles were real head-scratchers but I got to the end eventually. I did notice a few typos in some of the dialogue, particularly in the ending cutscene, but it was otherwise pretty funny and added to the silly romp that the game felt like. The Mother is low-key terrifying lol

Very distinct and charming visual style! It's a pretty cool choice that there's no music in the start of a game starring a burned out music teacher... makes perfect sense to me! I did have a little trouble figuring out where to go during some parts of the "chase" sequence but it's a surrealist game so I think losing some clarity on pathing for the sake of style is more than forgivable, and it didn't take too long to figure it out.

The movement is bouncy and responsive, and the music is fun! The flickering on whatever you're standing on is a little distracting and a bit of an eye strain, though. I know I lost on the third level (I think I got hit too many times by the beams? Hard to tell though, I didn't see an HP meter or anything) because some text appeared telling me I lost, but I could continue to jump around and move. Nothing happened when I got to the portal at the end of the level, though and the game crashed when I tried to quit out.

I haven't actually run/played a session with it but the system seems interesting, and the world building is a great starting point for a game. I like the personality mechanic. Made a guy using the character building instructions and rolled three 11s in a row lol

I did notice that there is some missing text in the Combat section, specifically for the Focus action.

Ahh that would explain it! Might give it another go now that I know one more way to make him not die lol

They weren't kidding, he really do be hard to manage. Couldn't tell if I was actually making him eat the hamburger, I would zoom in to click it when it was in his mouth but other than the hamburger disappearing there was no visual change and I still starved to death at least once. I think 20 seconds was my longest time lol

Oh cool! Glad it's exactly what you intended, then! And here I was thinking I'd broken it lol

I love this game, but I do feel like I should tell the devs... the Attendant is completely broken. Rolled them as my first character, and was having an expectedly difficult time with battles... until I found the Attendant Dossier. Quickly discovered that loading up on cameras lets you stunlock all enemies, then gives you the material needed for an attack against all enemies, and essentially makes you invincible. And trust me, getting enough money for cameras is not a problem after you discover this. Despite the flavor text, I've never seen the camera fail to stun any enemy. I wanted to give you guys a heads up about this, because I'm sure this wasn't your intention! This really is a great game and I'm still really enjoying it even though I accidentally broke it!
