Thank you :D
The visuals were kind of an experimentation, and although I'm nowhere close to what some people can do (especially within the Acerola community haha), I'm happy with what I ended up with

i'm a big boy i won't cry :'(

Thank you ! If you eventually remember the game, let me know, I'd be really interested !

About the edginess, I think both cute and darker vibes have redeeming qualities and can be enjoyed (althouh dark and edgy are different things as well); this time I went the cute route, glad it was the right choice :D

Thanks ! I have wanted to make a more narrative-focused game for a while now, happy that I finally got around to doing it :D

Glad you liked it

Thanks ! We tried to make the game different from other tower defense games as best as we could in less than 48 hours.

This was also the first shot of our artist at making visuals for a game, I think she can be proud of herself ;)

That's sweet ! Thanks a lot

Thanks ! All games need more fish people

Thanks ;)

Thanks a lot !

Agreed that we should have made the map wider to let people more time to read. Also agreed that the font doesn't make it easy. We were juste in a big rush at the end, so... sorry ^^

Voice lines would have been cool, yes, but there was no way we would have had the time...

We were aware that the tape mechanic could lead to some broken situations, and we just bet on the fact that it wouldn't be too major as you said.

Thanks ! (there's 4 of us btw, I couldn't have done it alone ^^)

Thanks ! We weren't sure if it would be clear enough. Glad you appreciated ;)

Thank your for your fun comment !

Thanks ! We didn't have the time to make a lot of them, but if the ones that are there are good then all is well :)

Thank you ! Is there any suggestion you would make on how to further improve the look of the game ?

Frankly I was a bit worried that it would be hard to understand, but if you didn't have troubles then great :D

Thanks ! I also think sound design should note be forgotten in game jams. This was our sound designer's first experience, and she did a great job !

Feel u lol

Really cool to be able to destroy 3D objects like this in a 48h game, congrats !

The way you have more than one option to cheat your way through the race is amazing. Also, congrats on implementing AIs in such a short time !

Having an in-game tutorial would be cool.

Other than that, cool game, congrats !

Cool entry, congrats !

Maybe you could add a scoreboard to keep track of your highscore.

Thanks ! Glad you enjoyed the game :D

The colliders were going to be even more punishing before we tweaked them. Guess we should have made them even smaller.

Thanks for the feedback ;)

Thanks a lot !

Recognizing the different colors has been an issue throughout the developpement of the game, in part due to the amount of post processing we use

There was a point when white mandrakes were orange instead, so they still looked like yellow ones, but also like red ones, which in turn looked like the pink ones, it was a nightmare XD

Although the final color scheme is way better, I agree that it's still not perfect. Thanks for the feedback !

Maybe the tutorial wasn't clear enough then, sorry about that...

Thank you for your feedback !

Thanks ! I don't think I would consider it a metroidvania as-is, but there definitely was some inspiration

Thanks :)

Thank you ! I did have fun toying with this mechanic :)

And yeah it's a nasty bug, the game is best played with a controller

You know, this is a really annoying bug, and I noticed it just after the submission period ended XD

I playtested with a controller more than with a keyboard, my mistake

Thank you for the feedback though !

Wish all games were designed with this mindset lol

It's been said already, but an easy way to make the game juicier would be to add screenshake and sound effects when you hit ennemies.

Congrats for your entry though !

Since there's no tell when the bear is about to look at the camera, it's often a little frustrating to lose

Congrats for your entry though

I'm not sure about the idea of a rythm game with distractions on the side, but hey game jams are for trying stuff out

Also as other mentionned, the game was pretty laggy

Other than that great entry, amazing that you got that done in 10 days !

Probably the juiciest game I've played from this jam, the combo counter getting bigger than the screen was ridiculous and amazing

It does come at the expense of readability, but frankly, worth it

Cool game, it's well polished !

It could use some more complex mechanics, but of course time is limited in a jam ^^

Congrats for the entry !

This is so polished for a jam game, congrats dude

I don't even have any suggestions for improvements

Congrats for your game !

It was already pointed out but the mechanic of losing money for kinning ennemies is a little weird. Maybe you could have made it so that you get money by killing them, but lose money when getting hit ? That way it would encourage the player to play well, so as not to have to pay health for upgrades

Anyway don't stress it, game jams are made to test things ^^ Cool game
