I really enjoyed the game. The concept of juggling tasks as a form of commentary on success was very cool. I'm not good with rhythm games but this was fun. Don't really like this type of music so I don't really have to say anything about it. The art is cool but I see some place for refinement.
Overall a very solid and good game concept
Woah, so complex, so much going on at once, kind of a juice in itself. Looks nice. I had a hard time with the notes, but I expected that. Good job, a great foundation.
The art and music were great, the controls not so much, rythm games are more about focusing and having to change screens while palying makes you lose the focus. But I think it's an interesting idea to explore.
One problem I had is that there is no key for / in my keyboard so I kept losing lifes.
Good game overall!
The idea is really cool, no issue with lag on my side (Firefox/Windows). I think the difficulty level is a little bit to high (and where is the / button on those damned QWERTY keyboards haha)
I'm not sure about the idea of a rythm game with distractions on the side, but hey game jams are for trying stuff out
Also as other mentionned, the game was pretty laggy
Other than that great entry, amazing that you got that done in 10 days !
I really like the concept, like diner dash as a rhythm game almost. The game was pretty laggy for me (on a Mac) but overall I thought concept was super cool and original
The art is (holy shit) incredible, but the gameplay its not quite engaging or juicy, over all this has pottential as a ritmic game
Really appreciate the creativity for this one! I have to say I had a tough time getting used to the controls. I think this would have really benefit from some control customization.
If you told to that this game was made in 10 days, I wouldn't believe you. It is very amazing ! Art is so beautiful ! It's little bit hard because I don't have QWERTY keyboard and change between different task is difficult for me but great experience :) !
Thanks for the review, glad you enjoyed it regardless of keyboard! Seems we really need to get some customization in that department down x) As for the art, a little help from Stable Diffusion went a long way for this one :p Definitely was still really challenging, but helped a lot with that 10 day benchmark
this seems really cool in concept but it's literally unplayable for me because I'm on a qwertz keyboard and I can only type / with shift + 7. Now changing that wouldn't be very difficult but it's just something I don't want to do for a game, that's a consideration that should be on you as a dev :(
The art style is so slick tho, and the concept really fun, with a few UX passes, this could be really awesome!!
Thanks for the feedback! We're definitely going to look into having default differing controller and keyboard settings in the future. Really wasn't a problem we've encountered before, tho the ASDF layout and controls are new territory for us x.x
Took me a minute to get the hang of the controls, but they felt good once I understood them.
Some more feedback on the correct notes (maybe syncing more with the song) would help the feel a little bit.
Was fun to play, good entry!
The game looks very good but I did not understand what I had to do, but everything looks so good.
I really need to improve my reaction skill haha. It's challenging but I love it.
I found the game really challenging. It is really catching me. Really fun. But I have a problem. I can't type /ban. How to type it since we use shift to rotate through screens?
Do you have a qwerty keyboard? If so, you don't need to hit shift to type the / key. I apologize if you don't have a qwerty keyboard, I didn't consider that while making the game :( . It's probably unplayable unless you can use some software to make the computer think you're using a qwerty keyboard instead.
feels really juicy guys, great work with animations and gameplay! cool DJ hero vibes with an awesome aesthetic.
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed the aesthetic.
Wow, amazing what you got accomplished in the time! Looks so professional, especially with the music, presentation, dialogue, etc. I would have enjoyed it more if I just focused on the rhythm game - the stream stuff just seemed to get in the way. amazing job with this!
I agree the rhythm part is the most enjoyable of the 3 "minigames". If we continue with this project we'll definitely need to take another look at the other two and see if we can make them more fun.
Audio was very quiet :( Looks good cool though!
Thanks for the feedback! We had some issues with the audio clipping in the web version and got it mostly resolved, but we added a slider in the bottom right corner of the main level select screen. If you want to really blast it, try sliding that puppy all the way to the right before selecting a song :)
I realized it was on my end! I updated my score accordingly :)
Nice! Hope it was more enjoyable this time! ^^
Love every aspect of this game, please add custom controls and progress bar cause without it it's extremely difficult
Thanks! Yeah, I'm finding custom controls to be pretty important based on the feedback so far. Way more people have non-qwerty keyboards than I realized.
I liked the art. I found the gameplay to be frustrating. I think the biggest problem was the constant interruptions from the tutorial combined with the slow text scroll speed. Micromanagement games are definitely not my jam but rhythm games typically are so maybe I'm just disappointed I didn't get to be very rhythmic. the presentation and game feel are both very well done.
Thanks for the review! Apologies for the frustration, the game is a bit intense lol. We did set up capabilities to turn off the tutorial if it's distracting from the home page. Just uncheck the "Tutorial" box underneath the Dopamine album art :)
I love the idea of a rhythm game that has more going on, but even the tutorial was rather confusing. Instead of shuffling the 3 views around when different ones become active, consider just HIGHLIGHTING the one that is active. It was very disorienting to see things moving around all the time. Looks great though + sounds great.
Thanks for giving the game a try. Sorry that it was confusing. I agree that the game is probably overly complicated in its current form and should be simplified a bit if we continue to work on it.
