Canadian Game Jam
A game jam focused on collaboration with other Canadian game devs, and providing a collection of Canadians together for easy networking.
Dates:
Canadian jam #1
March 1st is the theme announcement
March 14th is when game submissions are due
March 21st is when public voting is over and winners are announced on stream
Starts and ends on Fridays.
A 2 week long jam that ends before Canadian Spring break ends so students can use the break to crunch and still have a weekend of their break when it's over.
Canadian jam #2
October 4th is the theme announcement
October 18th is when game submissions are due
October 24th is when the public voting period is over and winners are announced on stream.
Starts and ends on Saturdays.
Another 2 week long jam with the Canadian Thanksgiving Long weekend in the middle so there is a long weekend and then a few days before the deadline crunch.

Don't wait until the last day to submit the game to the jam!!!
You and your teammates need sleep!
Export and compile your game first thing in the morning on the 2nd last day, because uploading to itch.io is a lot of work too! You need an appropriate game description, proper credit to your team, a video uploaded to demonstrate the game and whos to say there won't be some much needed troubleshooting involved to make it work in the browser at the last minute!!!
Compiling your game and uploading to itch.io can be a whole days work if you're new to it, so don’t leave it to the last hour!
Something is wrong with the game because this game is unrealistically hard to render on my PC.
I couldn't load on webgl (would crash the tab and break webGL for any other process until i restarted my browser) so I downloaded it, and when i run it, my GPU/CPU gets really hot and it runs all my fans at full. I have ryzen 9 processor 3.8GHz 12 core and 16 gbs of ram, I could run monster hunter wild beta test with less overheating issues, so i don't think it's a hardware issue on my end. I'm not a tech person but i think there's a memory leak somewhere
Dude I'm floored, best game honestly. Feels like a full game, I'd pay money to play this. was so much fun to play, even if youre like me and suck at playing anything. you can still progress and see most of the story, replayability through learning more about the characters and their relationships with other people. Painfully relatable main character I have to admit. I love the host boss ending, made me laugh. Hope to see more!
here is some lineart i made for this event that i probavly wont use for my own project. I just ask that you give me credit in the credits of your project or in the description if anywhere you use it, that i made it.

i have a gdd pretty roughly outlined, a musician on standby and im still looking for a programmer. Im the artist and i suppose the project lead as well. Its a kids-friendly game in the setting of a magical fantasy rome, and i have a clear direction for plot but no nicely worded writing/dialouge. Wanted to give a vhs tape/storybook sort of feeling. Hello there I am a 2D artist with a bunch of pre-made assets on hand, I would like to either work closely with just one programmer to make a small game, or join a team. I cannot offer payment, but monetary gain is a driving factor and/or main goal for this project for me.
I would like to make new artwork for this project but i would also like to make use of the assets I already have. I can draw human or anthro characters, but i dont want to make a Visual Novel or anything NSFW or violent. I work best adding to and bringing other people's ideas to life.
Here is a preview of the assets that i have already made:
Anyway, if you're interested please post below examples, with your contact information. OR you can add me on discord; ShiaShnaky
