I want to play so many of these. I love this. Thank you for the laughs!

Um, yes, this ^. I didn't think I would but I am tearing up reading just the magic item section :')

Oh yay, glad it's arrived safely. Thank you! Enjoy!

It all should be waiting in your kickstarter inbox, sent out a week ago. Message me on kickstarter if there is any confusion and I can respond to your kickstarter account

Hooray! Glad that fixed the problem. Seems like more of a generic thing, but by the same token I probably don't test fullscreen enough. Better add that to the future test plans.

(Also yes, good to know for the future, those are the kinds of details that someone might ask for with a bug)

Hi AbsenteeGamer, I am sorry you're experiencing that! It's very strange.  I can't reproduce the error personally, but that is just one  machine. I have two questions for you if you don't mind:

1) Do you have a game controller of some sort plugged in while playing the game? This is just a hunch, I am not sure if that would have any effect on the game.

2) Do you mind sharing some of the specs of your machine? Operating system and brand would be a good starting point, and then I can look into whether other people have had problems with the Ren'py engine and full screen.

Just on a cursory (pun not intended but funny anyway!) glance, I found some steps for other people who have had issues with cursors disappearing in full screen games in general:

Mouse cursor invisible when playing any full screen game (Windows 10)

  1. Press Windows and X keys together and select Control Panel.
  2. Click on Mouse.
  3. Navigate to pointer options tab.
  4. Under Visibility, uncheck the box which says “display pointer trails”.
  5. Click on OK to close the window.

Or  this Method:

Follow the steps below to change the display text size to 100 % and check if it resolves the issue:

  • Right Click on the desktop screen and select Personalize.
  • Click on Display.
  • Check the box that says “let me choose one scaling level for all my display”. Choose Smaller (100%)-default.
  • Click on Apply. Restart the game and check if the point becomes invisible again.

I hope that helps, otherwise I can dig a little deeper.

Thanks for the review Toma!

Good news from Microsoft, they got straight back to me. Still waiting to hear from Avira. I ran it through VirusTotal and found three other antiviruses that would bring back a false positive, and one of those three has cleared it to. So 2 out of 5 done!

Here is Microsoft's message below:

Analyst comments:

We have removed the detection.

Please follow the steps below to clear cached detection and obtain the latest malware definitions.

 1. Open command prompt as administrator and change directory to c:\Program Files\Windows Defender

2. Run “MpCmdRun.exe -removedefinitions -dynamicsignatures”

3. Run "MpCmdRun.exe -SignatureUpdate"

Alternatively, the latest definition is available for download here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/wdsi/definitions

 Thank you for contacting Microsoft.

I'll give you an update when I hear from those two in particular

I'll try submitting it to those places to make sure they can vet it. Thanks for pointing this out to me Berlot7

Waaaaaaaaat :( I'll look into this

Thanks so much for taking the time to play my game and review it! Your review is more than fair I feel :)

This is AMAZING

Thanks so much for playing! And for commenting as well, it helps me improve. Perhaps I need to show that ending a bit more love in the future.

Yeah, if I went back I would probably stretch things out a little bit. Which ending did you get, out of interest?

Hi Alyssa, thanks for making the time to play and give feedback! Do you want to be listed in the credits with the . in your name, or without?

Also, could you please comment more on what you think could be improved in the art? I'm not an artist, and I'd like to pass along specific  feedback to Sean for improvements :)

Cheers, Claire

Thanks so much gamerchrist. I was thinking about putting in different difficulties, and probably trophies for getting the "best" ending at easy, medium and hard difficulty. The first time through it would be really good to be able to read the options more carefully, but once you're more familiar with the game you might want more of a challenge.

By the way, would you like to be listed in the credits as gamerchrist, or something else?

By Steam I mean Itch lol

This is lit. Love it! I'm going to play again and again :)

Thanks Jupiter! Great vid :)

Thanks so much Jupiter! Love your vids :)

Thanks!

Thank you for taking the time to play and go on this hard journey

Thanks for playing :)

Thanks so much!  And thanks for doing the other games in the jam too, I wasn't going to get a chance to play them all anytime soon so it was nice to be able to watch them.

At the moment I'm trying all sorts of things but I can't -NOT- escape from the cell :D

That is so weird. I can. Dang dang dang. Any chance of a video or something so I can see  if something's different?

Hi Peter, I wonder which key you're talking about? (Maybe I shouldn't have put so many keys in the game...)

There's a key to get out of your cell.

There's a key to open the evidence locker.

There's a key given to you by a prisoner in exchange for something, that one isn't labelled but (spoilers) it opens a room a few rooms north of that prisoner.

And there's another key that opens the high tower cell.

Nice! Inspired to use GB Studio now :)

Hi everyone,

I've just released my first game, a visual novel called Prince of Cats. You can find out more here: https://skybeargames.itch.io/prince-of-cats

If you want to watch it being played, one of my kickstarter backers has already put a couple of streams up: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ybE-qoks-Z0

Here is a description of the game:

Where has the Prince of Cats gone? Nim, his servant, leaves the safety of the faerie court to find where the leader of the cat spirits has gone. She finds herself in the city of Vanora, where players will meet many familiar Shakespearean characters.

Stuck here for a month until the next full moon, Nim has to navigate the busy city searching for the Prince. Forced to fit in with the humans, she has to learn new skills in classes, or take jobs to make money to survive. Throughout the city, she will meet many characters who you might find familiar:

  • a young woman, Juliet, in love (Romeo and Juliet)
  • two argumentative sisters, Bianca and Katharine (Taming of the Shrew)
  • the magician Prospero and his captive spirit Ariel (The Tempest)
  • Nick Bottom and Peter Quince, putting on a play - and, if you play your cards right, a few special fairy guests (A Midsummer Night's Dream)
  • two Danish refugees, Horatio and Ophelia (Hamlet)
  • Lady Portia (The Merchant of Venice)
  • And many other Shakespearean characters!

Will Nim remain untainted by the mortal world, find her Prince, and return him to Faerie? Or has entering the city of Vanora changed her fate forever? This game is a visual novel, life simulation game made with Ren'py.
