I submitted a game for the Game Maker's Toolkit game jam about a month ago. I know it's not great, but if you could play it and give me your honest opinion, it would mean a lot to me. Obviously, you don't have to play it, but your feedback and criticism would help me make notes for future projects. Good luck with your future games. I will definitely check out any other games you release here.
I figured out what the problem was. In that level, level 5, if you have the other extension turned on, you can't fire bullets. I just finished the game. That Was Awesome! The final boss was amazing. The only thing that I would reccomend is allowing the player to die in the final boss fight, so that there are actually stakes involved. But either way, I loved the game. I will absolutely be leaving a positive rating and review. I think that this has potential to become a full game. Great work, and congratulations on such a great release.
While relatively simple, the fundamentals for something great are there. A small piece of advice: the longer you hold the object in the air, the more it is affected by gravity. Maybe try adjusting your code, so that you don't start multiplying the gravity factor until you release the object. Good luck with future projects.
I actually thought that this was enjoyable to play. In a certain way, this game is extremely confusing, but at the same time I can tell that it is intended that way. Overall, I think it builds to the atmosphere. I was never confused, or "stuck" in a negative way, I was just unsure of what exactly was going on. I don't mean to be rude, but to be honest, I don't think that this has a ton of potential as a larger game, however I could be wrong. But as a college project, I think that this checks most of the boxes that a professor would be looking for as far as your understanding of game design. And overall, I can see a lot of systems that can translate into any game, such as movement, interaction, scrolling text dialogue, etc. Overall I think that this project is a success.
I hope that this helps to answer some questions. Let me know if there is anything else you need feedback on.
