Ooof, then I guess Flashpoint is the only option then.

YUP!

I left some comments on how to play it in the game description!

Honestly your best bet is probably through Newgrounds via the Newgrounds Player.  I've found that the availability of games you can play via Flashpoint varies per operating system, whereas the NG Player seems pretty solid across the board.

Ah, I was think of using the Newgrounds Player for running the game, but I'm discovering that the player isn't supported for MacOS.  Sorry about that!

The forwarder tool might work though, I haven't given it a try for macs.  Hopefully it should work.

FYI: Looks like they got the Newgrounds player working for AS3, so you can play the games there now! e.g. https://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/761480

Let me know if you’re able to get it working, would be great to know if it’s possible!

No, that should be right (and you can see it listed under 'BackDoor' if you check  https://nul.sh/misc/flashpoint/ ).

Are you using the MacOS beta?  It looks like the latest version is from 2019- I wonder if you need to update the games list somehow to include newer games.  BackDoor 3 came out in 2020, so that could be why.  I tried searching for some newer games through the MacOS beta version and they haven't been showing up for me.

I don't really know how updating the games list would be done though, sorry.

It should be on there?  I just checked and it’s listed.

Yeah, you can't play the game in the browser anymore, but it is archived as part of the Flashpoint Project!  That's probably the best way to play the game at this point.

  • Look, the towel has sentimental value, ok.  Just ignore the fact it was stolen.
  • Maybe they never invented planes, trains seem to fly just fine to me.
  • Yeah, it's not any bird handywork that there's a passage on the train.  It just popped up one day and no one knew what to do about it.
  • In other words:
    • Passenger: Excuse me, there seems to be something wrong with the train bathroom.
    • Mechanic: Alright, I'll take a look.
    • takes a look into the endless void beyond the doorframe
    • Mechanic: ....huh.
    • Mechanic: ...definitely broken.
    • puts up caution tape on the door
  • Yeah!  A lot of these positive vibes just came out organically, I'm happy with how they turned out.  Maybe it's because of the current state of the world, who knows.
  • I think out of the characters I introduced in this game, I like Peck / Piper the most.
  • I drink too much caffeine.

I'm so glad you enjoyed the game, thank you!

It was intentional!  A number of people remarked on Door 2 saying it was too easy, so I wanted to try and make Door 3 a little harder.

However, based on the feedback I've seen so far on Door 3, I probably will ease back on the difficulty for the next game.
