I know how you feel, and all I can say is you've my apologies. I'm still behind in other projects, but SoL is going to get some love and attention - especially now that I have it looking the way I want it to be.
Burn out is a real thing, but it's not happening here. It's a combination of RL factors that never seem to stop. I'm working on getting out of my "main" job to focus completely on developing. There's just a lot of steps for someone in my situation. 0.9 is getting worked on.
It isn't dead. Things have been very hectic IRL and I'm trying to get the main project finished so I can focus on SoL. I've been doing some behind the scenes developing but my time has been very short. This is getting worked on when time allows, I promise.
Sorry for the late reply. Been having some RL issues. The thicket is found in the Forest in the morning time only. If it doesn't show up, it means she is busy and you will need to wait a little bit (usually caused by the Saving Sergeant Valkan thread).
I believe it might be a version error in the MAC download. I will check on the problem this coming weekend. I've been unavailable for a while... sorry for the late response.
It takes a little while into the game before you actually need to start making money. There will be a scene with Horace that triggers when you have 5 of one ingredient. After that scene happens, Horace will be able to stop by outside in the evening on some days to trade with you, buying potions and ingredients from you, and selling back some that she may have.
As the game continues, more items will be able to be bought/sold and another location selling/buying higher cost items will open up.
But to initially start, you'll have to trigger that scene with Horace.
I'm still learning about how to promote, and it's not easy being a "one-man-band" as everything falls on my shoulders. I'm hoping it will continue to expand in certain circles and take off, but in the meantime, it's been a blast putting together the story and learning how to do all of this.
Thanks for the reply. It's going to get a bit of a re-design, as I'm learning a lot more about development. The story is going to be basically the same, but just have some better graphics and models. The more I learn, the better SoL is going to be.
There are a few different times you need to have lavender and ring Cali's bell. If you are referring to sending her to get grips from Beatrice, you should be able to. I'm not sure what the problem would be.
I would suggest coming to the Discord so you can supply a save file so I can take a look at it and give you a direct answer.
Did you play a previous 0.5 version before putting in the 0.5a update?
From what I understand, you had to start a new game and then in the new game it wouldn't allow you to trade with Horace? Or was that from the old save?

The issue has been addressed. Make sure you have the updated FIX file. It will soon be updated to FIX 04. Without the patch file, errors like this will occur.
Additionally, if the links for the patch files are not showing up, please let me know. It's not easy for me to tell how visible the patch files are when people find the game and download it.

Current size of update is 2000+ images, 43 counted scenes (and a few others not counting to the total), and somewhere between 60 and 65 animations. Right now I'm finishing up the last of the rough animations.
