This looks absolutely stunning. I just downloaded, will be sure to let you know how my playthrough goes later. :)

Just gave it a play. Love the graphics and sound, great stuff!

Well, the art and sound is just lovely. I particularly like the sound effects of turning the switches on and off and the look and feel of the environments. Great stuff, I'm really enjoying the feel of this so far.

Hello everyone. I'm SosheGames, I'm a solo dev in the UK. I'm currently working on my first windows game, a visual novel called Fracture. I've been developing it for a couple of years now and progress is coming along well, but I decided to try and expand my presence in the community a bit more before releasing Fracture, which leads me here. I've heard game jams are a great way of getting yourself out there so I started looking for one I could join that looked fun and interesting and would give me something to put my creativity towards while taking breaks from the big project. I saw this jam, and this is definitely the one for me.

I admit, I never played the original LSD. However, dream psychology is a special interest of mine and I was taken with the art style in the LSD game, I would love to produce something both dream related and in that style.

I joined the jam a couple of days ago, and so far I came up with a couple of ideas for the dream project and even started building some abstract art assets to make environments from. I came up with the idea to involve a sentient "Dream Generator" called Jen Narrator, who narrates dreams that are found or generated by the player. She appears as a Jenny Wren during dreams, and guides the player through the mysteries present within the dream world.

As a sufferer of sleep paralysis, I also decided to use that concept as an antagonist in my game. Strangely enough, the night after joining this jam, I actually experienced some of the most terrifying sleep paralysis of my life, and I'll definitely be channeling that experience into this project.

Very excited to see all the other games that come out of this jam, good luck everyone....and sleep tight ;)

TBH, I like the presentation of that one. It was a really cool concept too, I'd have joined it if it hadn't been so close to the end. It reminded me of Bit.trip FLUX, where you have to give in and "die" to win at the end, the concept of death philosophically present throughout. Yours looked good too, I'm sure they didn't reject it due to presentation.

I've been working on my current project for a couple of years.  I'm impressed you did that in two weeks!

That's such a shame.

I'd also like to know the answer. I'm tempted to host one but would love to know how long the average approval time is first. I only have so long free before I need to be dedicating all my time back to my main project again so I was going to go for a short one. If I can't get it approved for weeks I won't have time to commit to it.

I just gave this a go, I'm enjoying it so far. The art is lovely.

If you like story heavy, character based visual novels with room escape puzzles, my game might be worth a look?

It's called Fracture, it's a serious, linear VN that tells the story of 6 people who get trapped in an abandoned hospital, one which was built on top of a ley line and is met with tragedy after tragedy until it is eventually shut down for good. In 1985, 2 sisters pick their sick mother up from a long hospital stay. The sisters are 18 year old Sarah and 9 year old Carrie. On the day that their mum is due to return home, a fire mysteriously breaks out in Hopetown Hospital, and one of the girls is lost in the confusion. 24 years later, the player takes control of Nicholas Ellis, a man who once worked as a porter at Hopetown and has since become increasingly fixated on ley lines...

Nick is kidnapped and transported to the renamed "Carrie Upland Memorial Hospital," along with 5 other people, including the family of the missing, presumed dead, Carrie Upland. The player must solve puzzles to escape rooms, and ultimately, the mystery of the hospital fire, the kidnapping and each other.

In the full game, Players alternate between playing as Sarah and Nick. There will be 6 Chapters in total and the demo includes the prologue and all of Chapter 1. It also unlocks some extra content at the end from my tie in novel, Sarah's Journal.

It looks lovely. I'll check it out!

Oh, I really like the look of this! I'll give it a go shortly.

I can't help with your original query I'm afraid. I have had much less success myself, even relatively speaking as I have only one demo here so far. I'll worry more about it when I have a finished game to promote, but in the meantime am trying to slowly grow as much interest as possible around the project before release. There's a lot of extraneous material for my game as it's a story heavy game with a lot of world building so I have a blog that ties into it people can follow, I'm planning a book that ties in with it too an I'm hoping all that will help get the word out as I finish building the project. Anyway, what I did want to say was I had a go at Catch Me Not, it's good. I like the music and your animations, so I gave you a follow.

I'd love for someone to have a go at my demo. It's a taste of a MUCH larger project.

Fracture is a VN/Mystery/Room Escape game with a narrative heavy plot. Six people end up kidnapped in an abandoned hospital, one which was met with tragedy 24 years prior to the kidnapping. In 1985, a fire takes the life of a young girl who was visiting her sick mother in this very hospital. 24 years later, 6 people find themselves trapped in this hospital, 2 of whom are the little girl's sister and mother.  In this demo, you mainly play as protagonist Nick, who was present on the day of the fire, and even ended up saving someone's life.....

Contains Room Escape puzzles, engaging character driven dialogue and a plot you can get lost in, I mean....really lost in. Because...

Who builds a hospital on a ley line, anyway?

I recently added new music, new art and gave the titles an overhaul. It's been in development for 3 years now and I'm working on Chapter 4 (of 6) so am hoping to have the full game out by the end of Dec 2024.

In the meantime, I'd love to gather a bit more interest in the project leading up to that date. If you like games like Zero Escape (Those games are a huge influence) then you'll like this.

This sounds interesting! I'll have a look for myself, unfortunately I'm not a youtuber.
