I've been working on 3D2D since april 2017. The bulk of the work went in in the first three years however.

After 2020 I mainly patched bugs out and made improvements to it. I also released some major updates, like the Saturn DLC with the custom music, the achievement system, a proper pause system and the graphic filters, all of which were significant additions.

Thank you for playing!

Thank you for the suggestion! I considered doing so, as 1.34 was deleted by windows, but with the newly released 1.35 windows defender seemed to like it on my end, so I guess that updating the extensions must have worked to an extent.

If reports continue with the new version, I'll try to not only send it to microsoft, but to AV companies too.

I built the new version on a new computer, the game doesn't viruses.

It's the fusion engine being detected as such.

Every single version released so far gave me this issue.

From what I know the library Joystick2 requires xinput1_3.dll, which is already included with the game.

I'm currently working on a new patch that will update the libraries 3d2d is using. Once released your problem might be solved.

No promises...yet.

That's very strange, I'll try to run some tests. The latest Fusion engine upgrade might have created some regressions to take care of...

I don't know how to manage it. Seems like the last update to fusion made things even worse.

I'm currently working on a new patch, but I don't think anything will be solved, as I'm still bound by the fusion's build function to generate the exe file.

I stated many times through these comments that Fusion is very often flagged as a virus and 3D2D suffers for that though.

You are right with what you say and I admit I didn't word my sentence properly. With "any" I didn't mean "every single unsigned exe", I meant that that a random unsigned exe can be flagged as a virus.

Not much I can do, as it's an unsigned exe.

Any unsigned exe is easily flagged as a virus just "because", unless its digitally signed or the AVs servers encountered it on enough machines long enough to stop considering it a virus.

Thank you!

I have some plans, the problem is to find the time to enact them!

Just download and extract in the same folder you put the previous game, then say yes to all and overwrite everything.

Yep!

as you get in game, toggle the ratio by pressing f12

Thank you!

Same story, any unsigned exe is easily flagged as a virus just "because", unless its digitally signed or the AVs encountered it on enough machines long enough to stop considering it a virus.

Newer unsigned exe files will suffer this fate forever.
You may need to get into your security settings and set mcAfee, and probably also Windows, to let the game start.

Windows and many antiviruses began doing their work relatively bad. They flag any new exe that isn't signed by them as a virus. While I get the concept in general, it's still a flawed one that creates a sea of false positives.

I can't do much, other than state that it's 4 years and counting that this keeps happening. I have better things to do than tarnish my reputation with a virus on a game I poured years of work into.
Flag the file as a false positive, and allow it to run if you'd like to play the game.

Are you sure? I can see both download buttons.

No promises...yet!

Sonic isn't the worst option at all. He's a technical character more than the others. He is the most flexible and the hardest to master.

More than the other characters (safe for maybe Amy, as she's the hard mode in this game) he requires knowledge of the stage, which shield to keep and use at the right moment and the level design.
He is the one that rewards you the most at later replays: once you manage to get a hold of the right shield at the right time, you can even clear Knuckles routes.

Don't give up at the game for a couple of gameovers. Like the games of old, 3D2D has not been designed to be beaten on the first playthrough.

Get a good ending two times.

I'll patch it soon. Thanks!

Rocket knight adventures and sparkster package!

You have to use the spinners, and land on the two springs where you can see the sunset while spinning. Hold right and you'll leap above the chasm and reach the boss area.

Alternatively, if you know your way around the stage, you can cross the chasm on the platforms by spinning with the speed shoes active!

Thanks!

enter the game folder and delete the "last" file inside Data\Profiles.

Next time you enter the game you will have to re-enter controls.

The easiest way is to look for a Fire Shield. There's one near the start of the level if you stay in the middle hight of the lava falls, and a few others scattered through the level. With a fire shield he can't hurt you at all.

Without a fire shield, I suggest you to stay on the right side of the arena, wait for the fire to reach you then leap above it as you go to the left. Hit a pipe when you can. If you time it right, you should be able land a hit and have the fire dissipate before it can reach you on the other side.

Good luck!

Keep playing.

Simply put all the "Saturn" and "Custom" folders into Data\Soundtrack\

That doesn't happen when playing normally.

I'll have to spend some time to figure out where I forgot a layer check to reach that area on the wrong surface level.

Indeed it is, thanks for reporting!

Happy new year AP7897! I'm sorry, I never experienced this problem. I cannot replicate it so I am unable to provide a solution to it.

Hello! Apologies! I missed a click! It should be good to go now!

Yes, I used version 1.5.1 and built upon it. If you're starting from scratch there is 1.5.2 out and other engines based on it as well.

You just have to unpack the zip file in the folder you want, there is no need for a tutorial, and no, no virus attached.

I'm sorry but I have no plans to do it, the game uses direct x9 for transparencies and the water effects, and I don't have the tools to convert it for android without having to rewrite a very large portion of the game.

Hello, it's a false positive. You may have to set up an exception for your antivirus to allow the game to run.

You can use any character once you unlocked all of them and bonus stage mode. Your save file will become an "ALL CLEAR" and you'll be able to start from any act as well

They are not as hard as they first seem.

Just practice them a little, you'll eventually be able to guess the patterns the game is throwing at you. Mind you I didn't say you need to memorize the level, just the possible patterns. If you manage to do that you can clear any stage the game has.

  • Try to never stay in the center too long, you'll likely get hit by a bomb
  • Jump left and right, don't run left and right
  • If you keep tapping the direction of the wall you're in, you'll stay stable in the same place
  • Each section has 3x the required amount of rings, don't get discouraged if you miss a line of ring at the start of a pattern.
  • Don't worry too much about having all the emeralds on the first playthrough. You can replay green grove and go for the missing emeralds quite easily on a cleared savegame

Time to give it a listen!

Thanks!
What's your favourite setting? Full dithered, sharp, or with only the backgrounds filtered?
